He said he didn't. So did she. So no, we can't agree.

NEWS: Donald Trump WILL NOT face sentencing in his Manhattan hush-money case before the presidential election in November, Judge Juan Merchan has ruled. More TK.

Merchan said he wanted to avoid "any appearance —however unwarranted" that the sentencing "has been affected by or seeks to affect the approaching Presidential election in which the Defendant is a candidate"

“A jury of 12 New Yorkers swiftly and unanimously convicted Donald Trump of 34 felony counts. The Manhattan D.A.’s Office stands ready for sentencing on the new date set by the court.”

On July 21, 2024, President Joe Biden announced that he would not seek a second term. Within a few days, Vice President Kamala Harris was anointed to become the Democrat Party's nominee for the presidency. During his campaign, President Biden used one company, Amazon Web Services (AWS), for the campaign's web hosting services.1 President Biden's campaign paid AWS throughout 2023 through the suspension of his campaign in July 2024. On August 20, 2024, Vice President Harris's campaign submitted its first Federal Election Commission (FEC) report that documented expenses and donations through July 31, 2024. In the report, specifically on Form 3P, line 232, a July 30, 2024, disbursement appears in the amount of $468.00 from Vice President Harris's campaign to Authentic Campaigns Inc. (Authentic) for web hosting services. This indicates that one of the very first things that Harris did upon taking over the Biden campaign infrastructure is to hire this firm, Authentic.
Authentic is a digital consulting and marketing firm that services Democrat candidates. Loren Merchan, Justice Merchan's daughter, is its president. Vice President Harris changed web hosting companies from AWS to Authentic immediately after becoming the presumptive Democrat presidential nominee. As the FEC report's filing did not occur until August 20, nearly a month after the Harris campaign and Authentic had begun doing business, no one in the public, including the Commission, could have known of the relationship. This is merely the beginning of a new contract with a new campaign, regardless of the amount reimbursed. Sure, there's an immediate benefit, but this is a play at a potential larger benefit for Authentic and Merchan down the road.
🚨🚨🚨 Today I filed a new judicial ethics complaint with the New York State Commission because new evidence on Kamala Harris’ most recent FEC filing shows she hired and paid Acting Justice Juan Merchan’s adult daughter’s company. This is a clear violation of the New York State… pic.twitter.com/Il7PwjSXIR

So Trump gonna weaponize the justice system to go after political opponents?Quote:

I think the legal claim was that it was some type of campaign finance violation which would be one of the possible predicate "crimes" to enhance the charges to a felony.oh no said:
how is the pr0n star a key witness in that case? She would have zero knowledge about an accounts payable clerk at Trump's company years ago coding an invoice from an attorney to the Legal Fees account in the general leger - apparently the felony crime Trump is guilty of.
well, yes.. waiting so many years to decide that Trump's campaign should have paid this lawyer's invoice instead of Trump is the real crime that makes him a convicted felon... but still, how is the pr0n star the star witness? She would have zero clue as to the accounts payable and accounting and recording processes for Trump's businesses.aggiehawg said:I think the legal claim was that it was some type of campaign finance violation which would be one of the possible predicate "crimes" to enhance the charges to a felony.oh no said:

Completely bogus under the law of course but that was the excuse Merchan used to allow her testimony.
She was there to share the details of her sex acts with Trump to make sure everybody knew they had sex. Those details were crucial to the state's case don'tchaknow?oh no said:well, yes.. waiting so many years to decide that Trump's campaign should have paid this lawyer's invoice instead of Trump is the real crime that makes him a convicted felon... but still, how is the pr0n star the star witness? BREAKING: Justice Merchan has granted a request from prosecutions/defense to pause deadlines — including Trump's sentencing date — while they consider the effect of his election as president. https://t.co/LaeJlAyTDi pic.twitter.com/SAHVbo3HbG

That is correct. It is what Trump wants.4stringAg said:
So Trump can't appeal until the actual sentencing occurs I take it from your post hawg? So this is just out there in limbo.
Motion to dismiss is still outstanding. There are a whole host of motions filed at different times on which Merchan has refused to issue a ruling, precisely because he does not want an appeal. He knows he would be savaged by appellate courts were he to issue a ruling that could be immediately appealed.AtticusMatlock said:

Before the election. It was Bragg that asked for the delay in entering the final judgment and sentencing (if any).BMX Bandit said:

Defending Merchan is not a good look, BTW.
But that will not be the narrative unless the case is tossed. They'll continue to call him a convicted felon till the end of time.Im Gipper said:
