Looks to me like Israel is a normal route for that aircraft. So Im not sure what to take from the flight history.

But who is, or who owns Cargo Air Company? Im in Aviation, and have never heard of them. A quick search didnt pull up anything.

Edit: nvm. I looked up the registration number. It's CAL Cargo, not Cargo Air Company like the tweet said.

I looked up their service routes, and routinely fly from Tel Aviv to the US and Europe. That's a normal route tree for them. Not sure we can take too much from it.

Likely they just got paid handsomely to bring AID to the area, since they're already operating in the region.

It says to me that this aircraft was on a regular cargo run up until October 7th when it was superseded by events.

Seems like these airfreighters have normal contracts but are also on standby for emergency use as needed.

Atlas Air runs in that same vein.

Jordan, Egypt, UAE, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Morocco have peace treaties with Israel. Sudan has relations with Israel.

Lebanon of course is not a real country but is part of the Iranian Caliphate controlled by Hizbullah. So far Hiz is staying out of it.

Saudi Arabia just invited Israeli Cabinet Ministers to conferences in Riyadh the last two weeks.

yes there are jihadis around the Middle East, but even Iraq is not interested in going to war with Israel anymore.
I've been wondering about this myself. Given the way Israel was internally attacked, I don't think Egypt or Jordan want to jeopardize the relationship they have built with Israel over the last several decades. Saudi Arabia seems to be moving in that direction too.

Iraq and Syria would probably love to play and will likely be a nuisance, but I think they are too consumed with internal struggles.

The real wild card is Iran.

The outlier is obviously the Dover-Beersheba flight. Pure speculation, but Dover is where our deceased are brought and processed for mortuary affairs.

They had a ton of ATGM's back in 2006 that made things very tough on Israel. I'd imagine they have even more now, and more advanced systems. Definitely don't want to face that in a m113

Years ago I looked into volunteering with IDF but back then there was a no foreign volunteer policy even for prior service. I wonder if that is still the case.

Looks like Gaza is getting pretty smokey from the bombings. That is unless it's fog or they're burning tires to make a smokescreen.

Weather says fair and no mention of fog but I don't know much about the weather patterns of Gaza

Edit: I'm leaning towards smoke since Ashkelon is not too far and it doesn't look to have fog rolling in

War is not pretty, it never has been in the history of man. There are no rules, especially when you are dealing with a group of savages that doesn't understand anything other than "might makes right" and who have had 30,000 years of warfare and hate bred into their DNA. The only rule at this point for Israel should be "I will win, and I will end you".

The idea that in war only soldiers are the ones in harm's way is a very modern, and very stupid, construct. Historically, when war broke out, everybody was at war and all targets were on the table. You won when you either:

1. Completely wiped the other side off the map,
2. Broke their spirit by showing them that you were capable - and willing - to do things they could not, would not or could not stomach,
3. Or you somehow managed to find some level of common ground and it ended mutually.

Historically, you fought against invaders not only to protect your land and homes, but to literally protect your family. Because losing a battle usually meant that your family was either going to be killed or worse - enslaved by the victors. Greeks, Romans, Germanic tribes, all African tribes, far east with Chinese dynasties, Japanese and Korean dynasties, just about every new world tribe - all operated with almost the same basic MO.

There is no common ground with Hamas and Israel, Hamas wants to wipe Israel off the face of this earth. Nothng short of pure extermination will satisfy them. So #3 above is not on the table, never will be. Hamas wants #1 above and will absolutely attempt to do #2 to get there.

Israel knows this, and at some point you have to quit trying to be the nice guy (as much as it can be said that Israel is the nice guy here anyway) and quit turning the other cheek. Honestly, the world would be better off if everybody just backed off and told both Israel and Hamas to end it, however that gets done.
