In California load drops in the afternoon hours when the weather is nice. In Texas the afternoon hours are where you see extremely high demand.

In ERCOT, solar works very well leading up to and during peak load (~5pm) but then it rapidly falls off when it is still needed in the evening hours.

It would be a totally crazy idea if we tried to design houses that were not as dependent on A/C. We have the means of powering every Texans home (especially if we remove all illegals), but I will never trust the government to provide.

Thats complicated. Just put a pot of water on to boil on your electric stove. Use steam to turn your own small turbine generator then use that power to heat more water. The growth can then be exponential.

Substantially all mercury generated is captured before it is emitted. You could put your mouth over the smokestack at a coal plant and breathe the air in without issue.

Or they could invest in complex natural gas plants, and double the capacity that wind and solar have for every single dollar spent.
