In a way, she is right. The current generation of players are certainly going to be remembered for their antics off the field and not their playing. OK maybe they were technically on the field when kneeling, but you know what I mean.

And she may be right about "changing the world forever", though not in a good way. I hate to say it, but maybe this women's team really DOES represent the country. Specifically, its long spiral down the drain.

Soccer has to be the most boring sport in TV. I looked it up and they scored exactly 1 goal in regulation over the last 3 games.

She will plastered all over ESPN in the AM, along with the Nascar idiot. No sports

After the US defeated Vietnam 3-0, they struggled to a 1-1 draw against the Netherlands and 0-0 draw against Portugal in their previous matchups. This is poetic justice and the consequence of the US women's soccer team spending too way too much time on woke agenda instead of improving their skills.

This result was evident far before the last month. Frankly even before they were garbage in the last Olympics and the time between then and now.

The women's team has enjoyed a competitive advantage due to title IX. Women's soccer was an after thought even and soccer crazy places like Brazil. In recent years (the last 5-10), other countries have been putting more money into their women's programs. It could be seen in the last World Cup a bit, but it's blatantly obvious now. It is why I was laughing at their stupid argument about how they win and the men's team does not. It's much easier to win when no one else cares but it was obvious that was changing during their whole BS lawsuit.

Additionally at this point the USAs pay to play model will hamper them. I'm sure they'll still get solid talent but they will miss on some that they need to keep up with the nations that have closed the gap and will soon surpass them.

They had some key injuries and their coach struggled to put them in the best possible situation. If you think they lost because of their politics, you are out of touch.

i celebrate their loss just like i celebrate the loss of the opposing team of whomever I support in a given game.

They lost for several reasons:

1. US player development lags behind the European counterparts, both technically and tactically. We've historically dominated due to the overall athleticism and experience playing competitive soccer matches. We've never been a technical team or highly sophisticated with our tactics. However, the European clubs are able to negate our athleticism edge with their technical and tactical play.

2. USSF should've fired Vlatko after the Olympics fiasco. He showed he just doesn't have what it takes to manage at international level in that competition. He's also not shown any signs of changing his approach. His roster selection is suspect at best and game management is horrible.

3. Injuries to Pugh and Sauerbraunn really hurt the team, mainly due to Vlatko being horrible at making adjustments.

4. Star players didn't step up. Whatever the reasons (we'll never know), they just didn't show up when the game is on the line. We dominated Sweden but hat tip to their keeper who played lights out.

With regards to the off-field stuff, it just turns people off. None of the causes they supported resonates with the American general public. BLM is and has always been a sham. Don't even get me started on their equal pay push.

I will never understand how someone who has the privilege of being selected to represent the greatest nation in the world doesn't show the pride of wearing the jersey. Instead of getting mad at Rapinoe and her ilk, I chose to relish watching Antonee Robinson enthusiastically sing the national anthem.

They lost because the world has finally caught up to them talent wise and we celebrate that loss due to their constant whining and even their star admitted that her best memory of the team was getting "equal pay".
