What deepwater seaport would be used to deploy the military hardware and logistical tail necessary to sustain a half-a-million strong force to fight in eastern Ukraine?

Anyone talking about a draft is just fear mongering and posting click bait. It's simply not happening. Didn't happen for Desert Storm, didn't happen for Iraq 2, and didn't happen for Afghanistan. We put hundreds of thousands of boots on the ground in those declared wars, yet no draft. Now we're not at war and have no intention of being at war and people are buying into hysterical nutjobs saying there's going to be a draft? It's idiotic.
The reasons to oppose our support of Ukraine keep getting more far-fetched and shrill, but I guess you have to keep trying until something sticks.
The reasons to oppose the war in Ukraine are far fetched because of ALL of these reasons?

1) People are dying (FACT)
2) The Kiev regime was placed there by a Western lead coup in 2014. (FACT)
3) The Russian ethnic majority in the Donbas and Crimea does not want to be 'liberated' by, or be under the control of the Kiev regime. (FACTS)
4) Continued NATO material and weapons support increases the likelihood of this spiraling into WW3. (FACT)
5) Zelensky's government is financially and organizationally corrupt and unaccountable. (FACT)
6) The AZOV Nazi battalion being propped up and supported by Zelensky and NATO. (FACT)
7) US and NATO aligned arms companies are becoming enriched by the 'free aid' being provided to Ukraine..... on the backs of western taxpayers. (FACT)
8) I don't want my son or your sons or anyone else's sons to be drafted to die for Joe Biden, McConnell, Klobuchar, Lindsay Graham, John McCain, Alexandra Chalupa, Alex Vindman, Eric Ciaramella, Victoria Nuland, and Hunter Biden's evil scheming in Ukraine (OPINION).

The continued expansion of NATO from 1991 to present caused the war that we are seeing today.

And if this conflict continues to devolve, then that error can be attributed to a continued escalation of the Cold War and the outbreak of a conventional WW3.

What we are seeing today is a continuation of the Cold War.

And 20-years later, the GWOT turned into a continuation of the Cold War.

From a historical standpoint, one thing is clear.

If you step back and look at it with fresh eyes, you'll see that US has somehow been the cause, and the solution to most of the world's problems since 1944.

It takes a whole lot of spin to make the US the cause of most of the world's problems since 1944. An unimaginable amount of spin.

The argument against the draft is that the military is high tech and we have no need for just 'warm-bodies.'

And that is true.

But on the other hand, the fact that it's 2023 and we see ongoing trench warfare in Europe is slightly concerning.

That dynamic changes if we are involved. Ukraine is holding their own against Russia with our cast off weapons and no air power.

We'd roll Russia in a matter of days if we threw ours against theirs. But it would never come to that. We will never directly engage Russia over Ukraine. Nor should we.

How about this for a compromise?

If the west doesn't invade Russia's sphere of influence by expanding NATO all the way to Russias front doorstep AND proceed the use Ukraine as it's own personal hub for money laundering and corruption for the past 20-years,

AND

If Russia doesn't invade a neighbor then there is no war.

Can we agree on that?

and if not; then what part do you take issue with?

We'll hammer this out right here and now.
Teslag

No we cannot.

Any country on earth should be free to join a defensive pact without fear of being invaded by a neighbor.

If Mexico joined BRICS would we be justified in invading them and launching indiscriminate missle attacks into Mexico City?

Because that's effectively what Russia has done.

We stayed in a bungalow that a couple of the Beatles lived in. We met Richard Pryor, Jim Nabors and Graham Nash and his wife. Back in the 80's. My BIL lived in a commune over there until the draft was called off for the Vietnam war.

For starters, Mexico has already expressed interest in joining BRICS so that is a reality.

Second, Mexico's economy is already shored up with un-taxed dollars flowing in every week.

Third, you right in that if there is a hot war in the Western Hemisphere it will likely be the result of BRICS v. CBDC which bootstraps on my original point.

So the US wouldn't waste missiles on Mexico City, they'd just turn off the money spigot until they started to squirm or there was a humanitarian disaster, whichever would occur first.

But to answer your question, no. Justification for invading another country is few and far between.

That said, what country on has invaded the most sovereign nations since 1944?

Iraq
Haiti
Panama
Grenada

Russia has invaded the following without provocation

Hungary (as USSR)
Czechoslovakia (as ussr)
Afghanistan
Georgia
Chechnya
Ukraine

Honestly, if we go back just a wee bit further, there's the whole Molotov-Ribbentrop thing and the Russians trying to divvy up Europe with the Nazis. You could say they were partially responsible for WWII with that enablement.

You could maybe also add Korea and Vietnam to their list. The North Koreans invaded the South with Russian provided weapons and advisors, essentially at their behest. The same with the North Vietnamese. The Russians backed the Vietnamese communists and interfered in Vietnamese politics, trying to install a puppet government. Then they supplied the Viet Cong and regular North Vietnamese army in their bid to takeover the South.

Somalia & Bosnia also come to mind, along with the 1000s of 'minor incursions' (SOF Operations &/or Drone Attacks) conducted as part of the War on Drugs &/or Terror into an untold number of countries!!

Ummm, I despise Michelle & his husband; I also believe certain actors, primarily Dems but also swampy Republicans, have used unnecessary wars, including those I listed, to enrich themselves all the while endangering the lives of our proud men & women in uniform! That's not the type of company I wish to consort with, nor have I ever. Thus, I seriously question your judgement, including what you consider to be "fine", because even if such was said in jest, the rest of your comment is still alarming for its sheer stupidity.

Specifically, the "baddies" reference was to a British comedy sketch where 2 Waffen SS officers serving on the Russian Front realize they're the 'baddies' on account of the totenkopf (death-heads) affixed to their visor hats; in other words, the irony is the soldiers only realized they were the "baddies" by their attire instead of dutifully serving a corrupt regime by invading countries without provocation &/or based upon lies (like we did with 'weapons of mass destruction').

Accordingly, I have no idea what mental gymnastics you had to pull to: 1) Associate me with Michelle, & 2) how that Brit segment correlates to Michelle. In this instance, your ignorance is glaring.

Perhaps you just wanted to attack me personally b/c I previously criticized the practice of milking the VA system and collecting 100% disability just because that inept governmental institution makes it easy to STEAL from the American taxpayers by overwhelming a system with bogus claims that actually take away time and resources of the VA to properly adjudicate claims of DESERVING SOLDIERS!!!

You can rest easy knowing that I caught a ban the last time I truthfully pointed out which TexAgs poster that comment applied to; you can also rest easy knowing that I won't be a puss & complain about your personal attack, which had no basis in fact or logic.

Try harder; be better. Oh, and who the hell is the "we" in your post? I'll bet you're on an island of stupidity all by your lonesome in this instance.
