Anyone talking about a draft is just fear mongering and posting click bait. It's simply not happening. Didn't happen for Desert Storm, didn't happen for Iraq 2, and didn't happen for Afghanistan. We put hundreds of thousands of boots on the ground in those declared wars, yet no draft. Now we're not at war and have no intention of being at war and people are buying into hysterical nutjobs saying there's going to be a draft? It's idiotic.

Well said. Except for the part about Desert Storm, Iraq 2, and Afghanistan. Our last declaration of War was in World War II.ABATTBQ11 said:

With the division in our country right now, I doubt we could pull together against a common enemy. We're too worried about fighting each other.Street Fighter said:ABATTBQ11 said:

Different kind of deal fighting 3rd world rag heads vs what could be a multi polar war with a military that can no longer rely on it's traditional recruiting base to fill the ranks. You'll have to coerce ppl. from this country to fight in that kind of conflict.

Thats one way to fix the recruiting shortfall.Quote:
WASHINGTON (AP) The U.S. Army is slashing the size of its force by about 24,000, or almost 5%, and restructuring to be better able to fight the next major war, as the service struggles with recruiting shortfalls that made it impossible to bring in enough soldiers to fill all the jobs.
The cuts will mainly be in already-empty posts not actual soldiers including in jobs related to counterinsurgency that swelled during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars but are not needed as much today. About 3,000 of the cuts would come from Army special operations forces.

Germany expanding their military has never worked out for the world at large.Stat Monitor Repairman said:
