Sad situation. The whole situation with him lately is weird. Probably should have taken the DW $ and worked on his marriage. Just had twins too.

Very weird.

Especially weird that he blasted Daily Wire for their contract and then used a similar contract on the comic Dave Landau, with unrealistic demands, etc.

I watched a snippet of that and Dave seemed much more believable about his contract negotiation and so did Jeremy Boreing. Dave said he believed Boreing's account as being most accurate as well.

I have always like Crowder's Change my Mind bit, but have never been a daily watcher, so I am seeing this all from afar.

I thought this thread was about him going thru Dallas.

The clip i saw of this guy on show talking about his divorce is so incredibly out of touch and speaks to the problematic GOP narrative with women. He genuinely seems disappointed his wife can simply divorce him and he can't make her stay with him.

On the clip he shared, he spoke about some public and private extortion regarding this. He specifically showed clips of Candace Owens saying "pray for Stephen" in a snarky, sadistic manner.

Could play into why he isn't daily wire.

Also, DW is almost unwatchable with constant ad reads.

I wonder if the Candice video is after Crowder turned down the offer and released the secret recording. Sounded like that to me.

Lol

Just because one guy who leans conservative thinks this way, doesnt mean all conservative people do.

That's such a weird take, and speaks to the problem of 'identity politics'. We're individuals. Not teams. Why is that lost on so many people?

It's definitely been stated as end goal by posters on this site. Most recently wanting to prevent divorce except for cases of adultery was mentioned on the Christian Nationalist thread.

It's about the problems of "No Fault Divorce" where either party can file for divorce without having any cause. It works against eh concept of marriage as a lifetime and serious institution. If your partner has done something like cheated or been abusive or something else that's a just cause and a reason to divorce. "I just woke up today and don't love you anymore" is not a valid reason.

Marriage is hard and it's even harder with kids. I'm about to hit 28 years myself and it has ups and downs for sure but part of getting through that is to have the mentality that divorce is simply not an option. You have to work it out and know there are times when you just have to make sacrifices. If you can just bail out when things get hard eventually you will find a reason and often end up regretting it.

If you aren't up for the commitment don't get married but also you won't be able to enjoy the fruits later on. I can tell you for certain that as you get older there is nothing more rewarding than having a life partner and children with the thought of maybe grandchildren some day. I have a few buds that are 50+ and never married. They have plenty of money but pretty empty lives, I would never want that.

So the guy is disappointed his marriage didn't work out and somehow that is a bad thing?

Is he supposed be happy? You don't agree with his politics does so you make him out to be inhuman. That is not the way.

Most likely is what I assumed. There's no telling what went on behind the scenes.

I like Crowder but thought his DW complaints were obnoxious. Now I think there was more going on. I always thought Candace was smarmy. Now I'm fairly certain of it.

Its applied all the time here to any one perceived to lean left. And you are right, people are not monolithic. Voting conservative in no way means people live their lives the same way. Most likely do, but its not black and white.

Your side is trying to convince the world men can be women, it's ok for men to compete in women's sports, and the divorce rate among blacks is off the charts, but the GOP has a problem with women.

Another awful analysis on your part.

I think most in the GOP are fine with no fault divorce. It is an exceptionally stupid concept though. We promise each other to be faithful and caring for the rest of our lives. It's a vow. Provided Stephen is accurate in that there is no abuse or infidelity, and provided he is willing to work on whatever issues she presumably has with him, why the hell does she get to break that contract, disrupt the parenting dynamic and get half his stuff? How is that just?

I'm really sorry to hear how his life seems to be going off the rails. With so many of his show crew quitting, the Daily Wire conflict, and now getting divorced when he has two young children, something isn't right with him. He seems a bit manic/depressive. It's a shame, because he's smart and had an interesting approach to presenting conservative content for the millennial generation.

Of course.... we should just excuse divorce for any reason whatsoever.....

This is your anti-Christian, post-modernist world view. It causes more broken families and hardship on children and society in general.

The only legitimate reasons for divorce are:

1. Physical Abuse or Sexual Assault within the home
2 Adultery
3. Extreme emotional abuse
4. Abandonment

And here is a 5th reason just for you:

5. If a person is in a homosexual mirage and no longer wants to be a mirage masquerading as a 'marriage' ... they should be allowed to terminate that contract too.

In ALL cases except #5, the person seeking the divorce and the one who doesn't (if applicable) should require marriage counseling first. It is in the interest of the community and State to preserve marriage whenever possible while minimizing the potential physical, sexual, or emotional harm.

Being 'incompatible' should not be an acceptable reason AND no fault divorce should NOT exist. People who wrongfully leave their spouse should face severe financial consequences.... however.... the general default of simply allowing the mother to take the children should also be done away with.

He is a prominent conservative commentator, GOP performs poorly with women due to the perceived disregard for their rights. It's not a stretch at all. His viewpoint is a good example of the conservative rhetoric that buries you with women, especially educated ones.

Anyways, as a child of divorce hate to see anyone get divorced, but sometimes it's the right decision. Going on your platform and blasting your wife for not trying to stay together is a bad look for him with his kids, even if it does score some points from the crowd that doesn't agree with 19A, think women should be subservient, etc.

Do you honestly think a guy like Crowder would say what he did to result in a divorce? Does he seem like someone who has that perspective and would share what may be damaging to him? No.

No fault divorce is fine, nobody should be forced to be married - congrats though you're confirming my point.

So thanks for proving my point and this is what I'm talking about to those who said my take was weird.

Women are not property, they deserve their right to vote, they can be married to whoever they want, they should have bodily autonomy, etc. It's 2023.

Yes, people who are swayed by emotional arguments are susceptible to emotional arguments. Nothing new there.

Also, people who like "free stuff" often vote for "free stuff" as long as they perceive that they won't be the ones paying for the "free stuff." It's being selfish.
