Sure I did. But since it was written as a response to a specific statement I made, I figured it had at least something to do with what I said.redcrayon said:Did you even read my post?Jeeper79 said:It's launching right as kids get out of school and being set up as a summer blockbuster. Because they netflixed the main character of the original story and the live actions typically suck when they don't stick to the script. Parents like me aren't going to support Disney but even my non-political friends have no intention of paying money so their kids can watch a politically correct white washing of the original look and feel of a movie.Jeeper79 said:It's launching right as kids get out of school and being set up as a summer blockbuster. Disney needs to be run out of business.coconutED said:
You didn't think woke Disney would actually let this stand, did you?
It's an informed estimate based on previous live action remakes. If you disagree, what's it based on? No, he was in the NBA
People will see it because of the feels and I'd bet it pays out but certainly not some kind of big hit from a profit standpoint.Jeeper79 said:It's an informed estimate based on previous live action remakes. Maybe Triton was like Ben Cartwright in "Bonanza". He'd marry a woman, they'd pop out a kid, then die.
Marry another, rinse, repeat

How did the Milan remake do in China? China is all most movie makers care about anymore.
I vaguely remember the folks in China being upset about it for one reason or another. Might have been another nail in the coffin for that oneannie88 said:CanyonAg77 said:

I saw it a few years ago. It was OK but again the original was better, but they were two different movies. The remake was not a musical at all, so hard to compare.
It helps to put posts in context when we know a bit about the poster. I'll just assume you're a Disney Adult from here on out.Jeeper79 said:Sure I did. Since the tone was condescending, I inferred that you disagreed. So I gave what I consider to be a rational explanation for my previous comment.
Are you here to add to the conversation or just to troll?
I don't know what is. Never heard the term before. I'm assuming means I like Disney, and I do. As does the rest of my family.redcrayon said:It helps to put posts in context when we know a bit about the poster. I'll just assume you're a Disney Adult from here on out.Jeeper79 said:Sure I did. The live action remake had mystical overtones and not-humanly-possible stunts, similar to other period piece kung fu movies from China. It was also PG-13 and released directly to Disney+. You're right. There really can't be a comparison.annie88 said:CanyonAg77 said:

I'm not surprised Pinocchio didn't do well. The movie hasn't aged as well as many (most?) of the other classics.tk111 said:
Remakes made since then have been colossal money-burning flops - Mulan in 2020 (it didnt have a traditional theatrical release though so who knows)...and Pinocchio (also the worst rated live action disney remake)

Weird, you're all over the Marvel threads and they're owned by evil Disney and aired on Disney+. If I thought they were as evil as you I wouldn't be consuming their media.C@LAg said:just like you can have sex with your girlfriend tonight, right?TXAGFAN said:

never had Disney plus.
have not had cable TV since 2011 so no money to Disney for ESPN, Disney whatever.

Little Mermaid is from the Disney Renaissance. It, along with Beauty & The Beast probably saved them from bankruptcy when they were released.
