I must confess, went to a game at Wrigley Field a month ago, and the only beer they had on tap at the concession stand was Bud Light. I drank one. Plz don't tell a soul.
The only time I've been to Wrigley was in 2015 the day they had the big celebration for the unveiling of the Budweiser seats in the outfield. Had a ton of Buds that glorious day and it was my grandfather's beer of choice and became mine by default ages ago.

Haven't had one in nearly three months now. Sad.

Let me get this straight:

1. Wrigley Field
2. Concession Stand
3. Beer on tap

How can that possibly be ANYTHING other than Old Style? Was this a concession stand in one of them townhome roofs in the outfield?

Did you even try to go to the next concession down the concourse?

I mean, to be at Wrigley Field and not be drinking an Old Style is just unfathomable.
We drank those at the Irish pub next door afterwards...i actually enjoyed them. Only went to one concession stand because it was so crazy and BL was all they had.

Come on people! Natty or michelob ultras are off limits too!
Well, to be fair, Natty was off limits once I was no longer a poor college student.

Natty should come with a warning label that it causes gastrointestinal distress on the same level as Taco Bell.
I still buy a 15/30 pack of Keystone every now and then over my normal Miller Lite. 90%+ of my beer drinking in college was Keystone and I still like Keystone. Hard to beat a canned Keystone with a splash of OJ while watching College Gameday.
Keystone is a tolerable beer that is the poor man's Coors Light.

Natty is not Keystone. Natty is gut poison.

Back in college days, the cheap beer hierarchy was pretty much:

1) Keystone
2) Milwaukee's Best

3) Natty

4) Schaefer

Edit to include Natty

Just reading that list gives me gastric distress.

You constipated? Drink some Beast or Meister Brau and you'll be clean as a whistle. If you survive the fecal expulsion process.

We used to get these 40s of malt liquor and the local convenience store. I can't remember the name of the malt liquor, but 1.5 of those and you were set. 2 and you were gonna hate the morning.

It was like $1.49 for one.
What you say, Paper Champion? I'm gonna beat you like a dog, a dog, you hear me!

Are you sure it wasn't Crazy Horse? That was the strongest of them all. I preferred St. Ides or Mickey's.

Nope it was the big colt 45 and shlitz malt liquors bottles. I think they were about 48oz or so.

I remember 32oz and 40s, which were already a handful to drink. The last few ounces of a 48 would be downright hot

I'm not sure if they still make them but they used to have 64 oz bottles of Olde English. One would get ya.

Am I just imagining that OE made a bottle so much bigger than a 40 that it had a handle on it? I feel like we tried it once, but only once...but maybe that's just a false malt liquor memory.

That's it I guess! I was picturing a small circular glass handle (like on a jug), but that has to be it. Thanks! That was our one time mistake as well.

Grenades are the 12oz bottles of Mickeys. For malt liqour, mickeys weren't bad. It was the drink of choice for playing Edward 40Hands.

For some reason I recall Keystone tasting different (better) than other light beers because they used a different can lining?

This also may be a beer fever dream from 30 years ago.

the 64s did also come with small, circular handles on the neck.
