Alright, we will try this again after ANOTHER BREAK. All of the same things that locked this thread down around the close of the first 100 pages were the exact same issues happening in the last 100 pages. So we will just repost our message from Page 96 right here again. In that message we did make the threat that if this gets locked again it likely does not get relaunched. We do think the subject is important to talk about, so we are going to launch this again because we beleive our community needs to have the opportunity to debate and discuss. Everyone needs to do their part is discussing and debating this topic in GOOD FAITH. The mod team will not be that gracious in our actions against all the usual worst offenders on this thread. This is your warning.
PAGE 96 MESSAGE We understand the need for an ongoing thread about the Russia-Ukraine conflict from a foreign/public/financial policy perspective vs. the long running thread discussing military strategy/tactics within the combat zones.
Hopefully a two week lock on this thread has served as an appropriate warning and break for everyone that has contributed in the correct ways on this thread and those that crossed lines.
Remember to respect all users when addressing them, regardless of differences in opinion on this subject.
If you are going to post statements based on opinion or information gleaned from other sources, please make this clear. When posting information from sources, post that source for others to read at least initially and make you subsequent posts your own take and/or summary of the information initially sourced.
It's not acceptable to call or infer another user is a propagandist. If you are going to argue that specific information is propaganda, you need to address the information directly with an explanation on what specifically makes the information incorrect or propaganda. Just making a "drive-by" statement that something is propaganda is not enough. You can expect those posts to be taken down and action taken against your account.
Charging users with the term troll or trolling will be considered thread derails or moderation questions. Posting these statements turns the thread away from the subject and toward the users. If you beleive a user is trolling or breaking another posting policy, you can flag the post and email moderator@texags.com to ask for a review. Otherwise, ignore posts that you beleive are trolling and spend time continuing substantive discussions about this topic.
We DO NOT consider this thread a "pro-russia" thread and the other thread a "pro-ukraine" thread or vice-versa. That is not our moderating standard for these threads. The strategy/tactics thread should be seen as a thread where people can talk about what is being reported on from the "front lines" of the confict from a military perspective. We consider this thread to be the political, social, and cultural discussion about the conflict. We would consider this thread a broader discussion that will have a wider spectrum of opinions on the politics, history, cause of the conflict and what the U.S., Europe, and any other countries role in the conflict might be in the past, present, or future.
DO NOT mischaracterize other users positions on the subject. This is considered jamming the discussion and turns the thread away from the topic and becames a fight between users or groups of users over the mischaracterizations. These are thread derails. We will act against these types of posts and users. If these posts begin dominating the thread again we will shut this back down and likely it will be for good next time.
If you need a refresher on our expectations for this thread and all threads on this platform please review the user agreement:
