Just mailed a check to Ukraine c/o the IRS.
I'm using my IRS money to buy an Ukraine bride. I'll be doing my part.
Seriously, I read there has been a surge in human trafficking involving Ukrainians in porn. I'm sure Hunter and the Biden crime klan has an angle on it all. Slava something something.

As a reminder, Obama-Biden had no problem letting the Yazidi's be massacred/enslaved.

Russia claims it has taken three districts in Bakhmut

Russia's defence ministry has claimed it has captured another three districts in the western part of the heavily contested city of Bakhmut, in the Donetsk region.

It is thought that the troops that have continued into Bakhmut are part of the Wagner group of mercenaries. The city has been on the frontline between Ukraine and Russia and has seen several battles for its control.

"The airborne troops were restraining the Ukrainian units on the flanks and supported the actions of the assault squads to capture the city," the ministry said in its latest bulletin.

Meat grinder. Such a sad reality.

Reality is that the morale will fail the troops before they officially lose. The question is whether or not zelensky and his money laundering cabinet, sorry war cabinet, admit defeat before those poor serfs are forced to die for a cause that is lost.

Who the hell is Krivonos? I can't even tell if he's still a general. He was fired in 2021. More lies.

Yes, both sides are losing people in Bakhmut. They both know this. Yes, Bakhmut will likely fall completely. They both know this. It is a very costly victory for the Russians, and many might say it's not been worth the cost.

They fight pretty hard for being "forced". When do you think Kiev falls?
texagbeliever

Kiev isn't the goal. The goal is morale collapse of Ukrainians and their western allies support.

Troops in WW1 were very spirited in their fighting, as the generals sent them to their slaughter in pursuit of their own glory. Their spirit is of little use in a dead body.

Republican legislators call for 'unrestrained aid' to Ukraine to end and promise to link future packages to a diplomatic strategy to quickly end the war.

Sino-Russian trade/cooperation on energy (including nuclear) continues to grow. Xi must be especially thrilled this week with his daily briefings about Xiden sending the US arsenal in bulk shipments to be trashed/sold in Ukraine and demanding the US buy more 'green' stuff from China, while the Xiden white house envoy Tai proclaims US is not seeking to 'decouple' from China, and is 'completely open to engaging with my Beijing counterparts.'

It's almost as if, were China secretly/quietly running US foreign and domestic policy from within the executive branch of the US government...absolutely nothing would be getting done any differently.

If ever one was to look for an example of incoherent arguments, this would be a good place to start. China wants the US to aid the enemy of its ally, Russia?

This thread had descended into paranoia and delusion.

Putin, nor Zelensky care one iota about the dead/killed soldiers/civilians, let alone Xi. Biden can't spell 'casualty.'

The impact on energy prices/markets, and decreased US readiness is the main benefit to China and their proxy/puppets. But don't take my word for it, Saint Zelensky proclaimed China the big winner in the war. You don't think he was lying, do you?

So to be clear, your position is that US/NATO should have ceded Ukraine to Russia in 2022 ... like we did with Crimea and Donbass in 2014. And, the US/EU should have maintained the existing Russian trade relationship ... like everyone did in 2014?

To be clear, I would have favored Biden not triggering the invasion due to his previous passivity with Obama and reckless December 2021 comments about Ukraine joining nato. I would not have favored at any time encouraging Ukraine to demand total surrender as a condition to negotiations and would not have ever supported more than what we spent the first few years in Afghanistan. Ukraine is not a free country and is too corrupt to be trusted anyway, just to further a narrative and support the CCP's strategic objectives.

Thanks for asking!

1. Russia is old military tech and very weak. Capitulation any second now.
2. Russia is about to run over Ukraine. We need to send another $100 BN. What a deal!
3. Russia is going to take over all of Europe. Send another $100Bn.
4. Take a day to celebrate deaths like any good nihilist.

China will have their proxy Xiden send 700 billion dollars as a "marshal plan" before taking over themselves directly as per Afghanistan.

Bakhmut quagmire works to Russia's advantage, but supposedly they have set a target to finish taking it by May 9th.

Quote:

Transformation of an army

Ukraine's armed forces underwent significant reforms starting in 2014. Western trainers started the process of transitioning the Ukrainian army from a top-down organization to one where lower-ranking individuals, like lieutenants and sergeants, have influence.

This shift in structure gave Ukrainian forces considerable flexibility on the battlefield, which proved to be a significant advantage in the first phases of the war. Lower-ranking officers and sergeants were able to respond to battlefield developments and achieve considerable tactical and even operational success.

The structure of the Ukrainian army and the goals of the Ukrainian political establishment, however, have shifted. Those lower-ranking officers and sergeants who were responsible for the Ukrainian success have either been killed or promoted, as Ukraine has suffered upwards of 120,000 casualties.

The soldiers replacing them, while their morale is high, do not have the same training and skills as the people they've replaced.

Fighting for total victory

This shift is mirrored in the political sphere. Initially, the sole goal of Ukraine was to keep fighting and prevent a rapid Russian victory. That goal was achieved.

Now, the Ukrainian forces are fighting for total victory. This is a subtle, but significant, shift.
Apparently the Ukrainians have resorted to just blowing up buildings once the Russians enter them.

Quote:

"I just want to note that the Wagner mercenaries and the Russian Airborne Forces are suffering heavy losses in Bakhmut not so much because of street fighting, but recently because of the Ukrainian army remotely blowing up buildings.

"Meaning, after the Wagner mercenaries are crammed in a building left by the Ukrainian army, the building is being blown up, and everyone inside is killed. They can't stop cramming into these houses, because there is nowhere else to hide, firstly. And secondly, 15 people cannot get into a building, because they can easily be knocked out. Therefore, if they occupy a building, it means several hundred people at once. Therefore, several hundred are blown up.

"Wagner Group is complaining a lot about this Ukraine's Armed Forces tactic on their sites and Telegram-channels. They say it's not fair. Actually, they might not have attacked, and then they wouldn't have had such problems.
War is horrible. This will only beget more atrocities from both sides.

So in those articles we hear that Russia's conscription efforts are becoming more desperate, there are reports of Russian ammunition rationing to focus on their quagmire offensives, a new date has been set for ending the quagmire, and Wagner thinks getting blown up isn't fair. Yikes.

More pointless bloodshed by those blinded by propaganda.

Those deaths did nothing, at all, for abstract notions of 'freedom.'

Meanwhile, in the 'forever wars' African front, a country whose largest investor/trading partner is China we are desperately evacuating our embassy.

Quote:

It is hard to not think that if the State Department had been on the ball and worked to coordinate with the Department of Defense when the two generals began their fighting, creating violent chaos in Sudan, from the early days, some of the more than 16,000 Americans trapped in Sudan now might have been able to safely evacuate. It sure serves as a reminder that thousands of Afghan helpers remain in Afghanistan, unable to leave after Biden's botched exit, though they were promised help by the American military for whom they provided support.

Fortunately, today the story is not about the deaths of American staffers in the U.S. embassy. Let's hope the thousands of Americans still there can remain safe and live through this power struggle between two warring generals, too. Sadly, the record of Biden and Blinken isn't good more like that of Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee.
This is all fine. Everything is going great. Slava stuff. Now we are also going to send our latest phased array radars to Ukraine (to be re-sold) via F/A-18E Super Hornets. Super. Why not?
