How many trillions have we spent in the last 1/2 century+ trying to smash the Russians into obscurity? Seems like a bargain, and the Ukes are doing it for us.
lol if you think that will be the outcome. UKE can't even protect their whole country.

About the same amount we've spent on the war on drugs only to later occupy Afghanistan protecting those valuable poppy fields for years, while keeping the southern border wide open to allow for the free flow of illegal immigrants and drugs into our country.

It wasn't ever a bad decision.

We are largely donating weapons we already procured with the intent of using them on Russia. Now they're being used for that purpose, and every Russian tank destroyed is one less we need to be prepared for in the future. We are eliminating Russia as a conventional threat, while setting ourselves up to be the principal energy supplier to Europe for decades. This is shaping up to be a huge win for our country.

It's government spending.
You can practically guarantee that it won't be worth every penny. Especially when you are dealing with the military industrial complex on our end and one of the most corrupt countries on earth on the other.

Not to say our money can't be spent better elsewhere and corruption is rampant amongst all politics ranks?

But didn't we just transfer 11 HIMAR systems to Ukraine? I would think this bill covers production cost to defense manufacturers to replace them and the ammunition.
Not to say it's all the cost of this 12.3bn but still there's always pork and better this than "green new deal"

Our resident Russophiles will be deeply saddened. They so badly want to see Putin win.

And for the record, I don't think we should be spending this money at all, but I sure as hell don't think we should not spend it solely because of some completely ****ed up view that Russia and Putin are good guys.

I don't want this money spent because I know damn near half of it is going to be grifted and that is why we are sending it.

IDGAF about Russia taking over Ukraine. That is Europe's business. This isn't like the cold War where communism was spreading like wild fire and we ate trying to save the world by stemming the tide.

Would love to see putin lose but it's not worth the money we are throwing at it especially when most of it will not get to the recipient.

Here's an effective way to use your tax dollars.

1. Go to your local library.

2. Check out a book about Neville Chamberlain.

3. If you don't have the fortitude to read the whole book, look up the Munich Agreement in 1938 in the index.

Now replace:
Germany = Russia
Czechoslovakia = Ukraine
England = United States

History doesn't repeat itself but it sure as hell rhymes.

For those keeping count, that's at least $66B now to Ukraine.

And we never even spent most of the original $54B so no idea why they need $12B more.

Oh, it's because it's a massive money laundering scheme with zero oversight because that was removed from the legislation.

But whatever it takes!
