NATO better get some ships in those waters. It's only an excusive economic zone if one can defend it.

NATO (without the US) barely has any ships.

And Turkey (NATO member, at least nominally) is unlikely to allow any warships through the Bosporus and Dardanelles under the Montreaux Convention. Time for us to take the gloves back off of Ukraine's attacks on Russian shipping.

The alliance has a total of just over 2800 naval vessels, minus our 460ish I would say that is more than "barely any".

NATO airpower would be the primary defense against Russian drone and cruise missile attacks on commercial shipping in NATO waters and Ukraine routinely hits Russian shipping in the Black, Caspian and Mediterranean Seas.

A huge portion of those 2800 are green water vessels only suitable for defending their home waters and are not deployable overseas. In addition, seaworthiness rates are generally in the 20-25% range, shaded towards the lower end for the blue water vessels, so realistically they really only have, at most, maybe 150-200 deployable ships between them.

Seeing chatter on X about a likely big attack on Ukraine tonight with missiles and drones. Tu-160s are in the air.

Would love to see a few mystery missiles out of Poland or Latvia drop some of those 160s like hot rocks. Oops, sorry Vlad...must have been some rogue Ukrainians that got ahold of them. Just like all those drones, fires, and bombs that have been showing up all over europe and hitting critical facilities.

Those planes fire air-launched ballistic and cruise missiles from well within Russian territory. Typically from the area of the Caspian sea. Far away from any air defenses. They don't even get close to Ukrainian or NATO territory.

Haven't seen it yet on this thread but Mike Baker reported on his YouTube channel this morning that one of the major Russian prison officials responsible for torturing Ukrainian POWs had an unfortunate incident in which his car spontaneously exploded with him inside of it.

For some reason I was thinking they had some coming from some of their northern bases. Guess they changed that after some of the successful Ukrainian attacks up there.

It's crazy to think of a world where JFK through a proxy fired on Russia. Yet here we are acting like it's perfectly normal to fire deep into the country with more nukes then nobody,

What even is this supposed to mean? I still can't understand the point.

Is there a current estimate of how many soldiers, tanks, aircraft, etc Russia has lost since this began?

Oryx is pretty much the premier OSINT tracker of losses.
