The Bradley has a 2-tube box launcher for TOW missiles.fullback44 said:
So another question for you military guys .. I understand the Ukraine wants tanks and other larger armored vehicles .. but from reading I see where the US literally has more than a few hundred thousand or more of the TOW missiles in its stockpile.. have we been giving the Ukraine vehicles / armored vehicles that can use these plentiful TOW missiles ? It seems like they could take out plenty of tanks w the TOW missiles and thus save our lower Quantity stock pile of Javilins ?
I saw where some TOW missile systems were supplied recently.. is this what the Stryker or Bradley's would have on them? Basically armored tank busters ? But not a tank

And the key data missing from your excellent highlight above from the article is that this assessment was dated in 2021 PRE INVASION.richardag said:Quote from the article:AgLA06 said:

- Of Russia's nearly 13,000 active combat tanks, only a fraction are main battle tanks. A 2021 Russian source estimated that their operational main battle fleet was closer to 2,600 tanks, made up of T-72s, T-80s, and T-90s, with another 400 T-72 variants used as range tanks.
So to put this into terms we can all relate to.... This is as bad as last years football season for us. Highly ranked coming in (#1 in the polls in Russia's case) and a few months later, tons of injuries, a lot of losses and in danger after a short time of dropping completely out of the top 25. Bravo Putin!! Well done!.JFABNRGR said:And the key data missing from your excellent highlight above from the article is that this assessment was dated in 2021 PRE INVASION.richardag said:Quote from the article:AgLA06 said:

Ornyx says 1630 lost to date.
So they are down to 970 and drop to behind Azerbaijan........

I was thinking the same thing. I'm also wondering if there is a plan in the works to boost the Ukes' airframe capabilities? I know we've bounced around ideas about the A10s or possibly older generation fixed wing fighters, etc.lb sand said:
With this same thought in mind, what's to stop Poland from sending mig-29's to Ukraine? Especially if we backfill Poland with used F-16's.
I think there's more buzz around F16s than A10s.AGS-R-TUFF said:I was thinking the same thing. I'm also wondering if there is a plan in the works to boost the Ukes' airframe capabilities? And since Putin insists on playing the long game and slowly feeding an entire generation into a meat grinder, you'd think there would be (or has been) enough time to train up some Uke pilots on more lethal aircraft options.
It would be a significant force multiplier by increasing the Ukes' attack range throughout the theatre. I think if they could ever gain air superiority, you'd see the battle dynamics begin to shift rapidly in favor of the good guys.

Honest question, do they have those in place in Ukraine? I know they would, or assume they would in mother Russia, but could air assets be safe or at least moderately safe to operate within country?MouthBQ98 said:
Have to be careful with aircraft. Russia has very formidable SAM capabilities even with the losses they have taken.
