Nope. They made a shield from discs. Ukraine is heavily agricultural and they're using what they have to fill in the gaps. Lots of folks now serving in the Uke military come from rural/ag backgrounds.

If you look closely it almost looks like the whole thing could be mounted to a 22.5 semi wheel/tire as a base.

I know what they are. I was asking if the tweet question was a joke.

The wheel is likely mounted on a cutoff end of an axle, allowing the gun to spin on it's base.

Ah. Doesn't seem like rocket science but wouldn't surprise me if they didn't know. Too many folks today are sheltered and far removed from rural and agricultural common knowledge.

Good point

Their welds aren't anything to write home about, though. Of course, hard to know what they're stuck working with (whatever they had nearby, no doubt).

It's been my experience that all welds will look like that if you don't have a grinder to clean them up
