The GIAT Caesar is a serious gun. It has a shoot & scoot capability that is faster than any towed howitzer AND it has a 52 caliber length tube. That long tube gives it potentially 40km range with the right propellants. The M777 is a 39 caliber length tube which has considerably shorter range. If I'm not mistaken, they're the same thing. I think Maxim was the designer and therefore name for the design that basically every industrialized nation licensed and built for themselves. So the British Vickers is a Maxim but the Germans, French, Americans, and so on also had a variant of the Maxim.
2nd industrial revolution produced some of the all time best machine guns. This old dinosaur is still in use by 2nd rate militaries all over the world.

The sad thing is that half the world believes this crap. At a certain point I guess you just have to stop worrying about it and do what's right, if it comes to that. Really hoping Russia acts prudently but I've seen nothing thus far to make me believe they won't continue to escalate in an effort to secure allied abandonment of Ukraine and Ukrainian surrender.
