You can say "neutral" but I've seen stuff like this from a lot of Indians on Twitter. Interaction tonight:

i don't understand indian neutrality...actually partial russian leaning stand...
talk about biting the hand that feeds you...their rise out of 3rd world status came from significant integration with west/ massive diaspara population in US enhancing India back home etc etc and their struggle with China and yet Indian partial leaning toward russia...I get that they want cheap oil but they should consider long term consequences...

The US is one of the few countries that has the luxury of putting democratic principles over national security.

From a realpolitik POV, it is as beneficial India to stay neutral as it is for us to bleed Russia. The rest of the world (with unfriendlies on their border), put realpolitik ahead of Western ideas of democracy.

This is especially true if this war spirals out of control. Neutrality has its benefits, especially if you consider the price of fuel.

Don't get it twisted…the Indians are still very sensitive to the fact that the US backed Pakistan against them and that Russia was on their side. I have several former Indian military friends that remind me of that regularly.

Interesting. Would that gun just be used for training? If so, why? Wouldn't it be better to train on a gun you'll actually use?

This also makes me skeptical of claims that seeing these very old weapons mean a side is scraping the bottom of the barrel. We know Ukraine is getting a lot of equipment, but they brought that gun out. Remember when we saw the old Maxim gun from the Russians weeks ago?

This is a large conflict and I think they're using everything that they can get their hands on. Impossible to know the breadth of usage, though, without any idea of actual stocks. It remains a very capable weapon but not at all portable/versatile.
