I think you are looking at a 2 to 3 multiplier for WIA from KIA. 100k is probably a little high. More like 60k. It is a huge number though.

And an eff ton of Russian people wholly buy into that line of thinking, along with the fact that "the west" is squarely to blame for all of Russia's domestic and economic issues. There's no personal accountability. Just victimhood. Because that's the beneficial path for both a corrupt government and the populace under their control.

So many citizens trust Putin implicitly. Everything he says is truth and no matter the evidence to the contrary, if it runs counter to his assertion then it's all somehow fabricated.

This has been Russia's mentality for centuries. A lot of it comes out of fact that they've been the ***** of numerous other entities since the 13th century when the Mongols invaded. Some could argue it go all the way back to Rurik.

Russia has gotten its ass kicked so many times that the victim mentality is engrained in their psychological makeup. Heck, they only won during WWII thanks to massive material support from the Western allies, and the fact they were willing to sacrifice tens of millions of their citizens to defeat Germany.

Are they hitting the intended target? If so I'd say age is no big deal.

The bigger question IMO is whether they're using these because they're the right tool for the job or because that's all they have left?

Ukraine has 11M males between the ages of 15 and 54. If even only half are available for military service, that's still millions of fighting-age bodies. Russia isn't going to out-die Ukraine.

IMO, if even half of what we have read on this thread is true, Ukraine is getting stronger, while Russia is getting weaker. The post regarding the O&G angle to the Russian invasion tends to bear this out. Now add the almost complete isolation of the Russian economy to the mix and you have a formula for a soon-to-be failed state.

Russia has bodies, but the can't train them, equip them, transport them, or supply them fast enough to make the tidal wave of manpower they used to crush the Germans.
