MLRS, HIMARS, SDB, etc. Sending a B-2 from the US to attack tactical mobile targets in Europe isn't what they do

Not mobile when they're stuck in their own traffic and will get stuck once you care the world's biggest potholes. You also want to destroy the road since it seems like they're having trouble in the mud. And good luck getting an MLRS or HIMARS anywhere close enough anytime before April.

Sure it isn't what they do, but if you need to get in and get out with absolute minimal risk of being hit or seen, it's the platform for the job because that is pretty much the only mission parameter that matters right now.

I was talking about our response to an invasion of Poland. Even if we're talking attacking Russia in Ukraine tomorrow that's not a good weapon to target match. There's other stuff the B-2 is more suited for, and lots of other systems better suited for attacking a convoy.

Then you commented out of line. What you commented on was strictly in response to hitting the currently stuck convoy with BRRRRRTTTTT that would likely be lit up by the convoy's air defenses. Then again, the Russians have proven somewhat inept at following their own doctrine and don't seem to have any kind of layered air defenses.

Either way, at the current juncture, yes, there are better weapon to target matches, but no, you would not want any of them in theater lest you give away the fact you just bombed a Russian convoy. It's not about the best weapon to target match, it's about the best weapon to mission match, which places not being seen above all else.

To put that in perspective, 8.6MM Russian soldiers died in WWII

Haha it's not going to be some secret. B-2's take off, the requisite time passes, a ****load of JDAMs hit a convoy, then after the same amount of time they land. Come on.

Putin is begging Finland and Sweden for help??

No. He wants promises that they'll play nice and never attack Russia, or that they'll stay neutral if NATO fires to war with Russia.

For those of you that dont think the West had nothing to do with Putin's wrath being built up:

I know its the Washington Post. But the fact remains - Russia wanted in. NATO didn't want them in. They needed a boogeyman.

Still does not justify what Putin is doing today. But good to look at the roots.

How did I not realize Raytheon makes them. They have decent size facility right down the road here in McKinney. Granted I doubt the munitions are made there, but that'll be the first place I go if we get invaded

I think the final assembly is done in Troy Alabama. Some of the crates were stamped Troy Alabama in the photos.
Alabama makes a lot of military hardware and software.

Putin sent BOYS to invade a country run by the mob. This is the appetizer to the main course of hitting urban streets. It will look like a cartel turf war once it gets inside the city.

This was Putin back on December 23.

He made it pretty clear then he was fed up with NATO expansion and was going to war. He's already at the point he thinks he has nothing to lose. This war ends only with Putin's assassination.

Russian occupiers asking locals to let them "take photos" next to Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant before they leave

Quote:

The Russian occupiers who surrounded Enerhodar and the territory of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) are trying to persuade city authorities to allow them on the site of the nuclear power plant to take pictures, after which they promise to leave.

Quote from Kotina: "Russian invaders are coming out and trying to negotiate with Enerhodar's city leaders. They say they have a task from their leadership to occupy the city of Enerhodar and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

They even say that they just need to enter the city, take a photo of themselves against the backdrop of the ZNPP and send a report to their leadership in the Russian army, to the Ministry [of Defence], for propaganda that they control the city and nuclear power plant.

Who knows if this is just propaganda, but somehow it seems believable.

Probably requesting guarantees that they stay neutral and not join NATO like what was previously requested of Ukraine.

The power move is to say what he wants to hear and conceal your intentions.

I've been listening to the 48 laws of power again, and it's such a fascinating book with hundreds of examples through history of good and bad execution of politics and warring.

It's interesting to compare insights from there to the unfolding war. The importance of morale, of appearances, of deception, of kindness, or ruthlessness. The stories of rulers and their worst and their greatest maneuvers. Examples from history from America, England, France, China, Italy, the Athenians, the Spartans, the Persians, the Pope, and more.

I looked up that town and it's 370 miles (10 hours) from the Ukrainian border. Means to me Russia didn't expect to need it.

Also going to be harder to hide what's going on from the Russian people moving heavy weaponry on railway from the interior of the country.

Artillery (and missiles) is the one thing about the Russian army that has lived up to its reputation.

that was expected to be a major strength

Seems like the real momentum is in the south. Up north, they've been stalled for a couple of days, but have tried to bomb Ukraine into submission.

Maybe they should promise not to join if Russia immediately pulls out all of their forces from Ukraine and pays for the damage caused so far.
What good is a promise from Russia at this point? Ukraine had a promise from Russia that they would not attack and would aid in their security. What was that worth to them?
