I'll take your word for it. I like brrrrrrrrrrrrt. But what you post makes sense.

The point is, Russia never wins air superiority against NATO, so, they never really advance. Everything else is meaningless.

It's gonna be a proxy war, and a proxy war that wont be hard to win, seeing as how the RU already stepped on their own dicks and seem completely inept.

That's the gist of it at this point because he has completely exposed Russias conventional military as a joke against an actual modern adversary.

It reminds me of when the USSR dissolved and we all discovered how truly archaic and inept they were.

What is the typical inventory of Javelin missiles? With thousands being fired in Ukraine and thousands more likely needed as the war continues will stockpiles in the donating countries become depleted quickly?

I am not sure how quickly Raytheon can churn out more but I would think it takes time as they are expensive high tech munitions.

If we could convince those who participate in the coup to "westernize" and join NATO as an incentive to remove sanctions we could squeeze China.

How did I not realize Raytheon makes them. They have decent size facility right down the road here in McKinney. Granted I doubt the munitions are made there, but that'll be the first place I go if we get invaded

For those of you that dont think the West had nothing to do with Putin's wrath being built up:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/politics/2000/03/06/putin-says-why-not-to-russia-joining-nato/c1973032-c10f-4bff-9174-8cae673790cd/

I know its the Washington Post. But the fact remains - Russia wanted in. NATO didn't want them in. They needed a boogeyman.

Still does not justify what Putin is doing today. But good to look at the roots.

I think the final assembly is done in Troy Alabama. Some of the crates were stamped Troy Alabama in the photos.

Finnish people all of a sudden want to be in NATO it turns out. I wonder why that is…

https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/majority-finns-now-want-join-nato-poll-2022-02-28/

Quote:

Out of 1,382 adults, 53% said Finland should join the defence alliance, 28% said no and 19% were indecisive, the poll data showed.

Finland will only go if and when Sweden does.

Different division of Raytheon in McKinney. Raytheon in Tucson (division was formerly known as Raytheon Missile Systems before Raytheon was bought by United Technologies) is where the Javelin is designed/managed out of.

There is a good bit of manufacturing that goes on at that facility, just not sure if that is also where Javelin is manufactured.

MLRS, HIMARS, SDB, etc. Sending a B-2 from the US to attack tactical mobile targets in Europe isn't what they do

Not mobile when they're stuck in their own traffic and will get stuck once you care the world's biggest potholes. You also want to destroy the road since it seems like they're having trouble in the mud. And good luck getting an MLRS or HIMARS anywhere close enough anytime before April.

Sure it isn't what they do, but if you need to get in and get out with absolute minimal risk of being hit or seen, it's the platform for the job because that is pretty much the only mission parameter that matters right now.

I was talking about our response to an invasion of Poland. Even if we're talking attacking Russia in Ukraine tomorrow that's not a good weapon to target match. There's other stuff the B-2 is more suited for, and lots of other systems better suited for attacking a convoy.

Fascinating to read that history.

1. If you have Russia in NATO....then why have NATO? That was probably his subtle point on suggesting they join.

2. Crazy to read other Russians commenting publicly against him.

Let NATO admit them…then let's see what Putin is made of, or if his own peeps will neutralize him…

Plus using B-2's at all may not be wise against someone like Russia. B-2's taking off will be known by them and really ratchets up the nuclear tension knowing stealth nuclear capable bombers are in the air headed to targets unknown

Maybe they should promise not to join if Russia immediately pulls out all of their forces from Ukraine and pays for the damage caused so far.

There has never been a time, including now, that communism has NOT had the goal of their authoriitaisnm being world wide. Started with Marx and Engels. Same with Lenin, Stalin, Krushchev and the rest.
