Is there any chance more countries get involved to help Ukraine with manpower, now that they have shown they at least have a punchers chance? Also as another poster pointed out their tech and strategies seem outdated.
Very hard to bring in the heavy equipment and troops to do so in such a kinetic environment. The same things that plagued the Russian attempts to land paratroopers would likely befall any force trying to come in by air in numbers large enough to make a difference. Best thing anybody could do if they really want to help at this point militarily is keep sending the MANPADS and Anti tank weapons, and help the Ukrainians with air superiority. If they have not already been practicing with the Ukrainian AF though, it would be very difficult for another AF's planes to be effective without a high risk of friendly fire incidents.
True unless they wait until Russia has encircled Kyiv and they come behind them from the west. IMHO all options should be looked at. Is it NATO's responsibility? No. However, making Russia as a country and it's "super power" a thing of the past wouldn't be a bad thing either. This might help China rethink things.

From a timing and logistics standpoint, what is the turn around time assuming that $6B gets sent to Ukranin gov or defence contractors or wherever you would source these. Does there exist a value chain/supply line to get actual goods in Ukranian hands ASAP? I am very ignorant on military supply chain or whatever

Spitballing 100% ignorant take here. I imagine the US could give Ukraine $6bn worth of our military assets that are sitting on a shelf waiting to use and then repurchase those supplies for our internal needs. We have less imminent needs, so I'd hope that this is how something like this would work.

It would never happen, but it would be kind sweet to see the Poles move in from the west and cutoff the Belarus forces.

Makes sense. Pull some if the NATO/US equipment already in position in Poland perhaps then back fill it.

Some live streams from Kyiv have appeared to pop back up on YouTube. If you turn them on and turn the volume up, you'll hear some pretty big damn explosions every few minutes way off in the distance. It's a surreal world those people are living in right now.

US UN rep just spoke with our allies gathered around her at UN at a separate press conference accusing Russia of violating UN Charter and they alone own this war and alone are aggressors. And then the General Assembly will also take a vote however it is non binding but shows broader condemnation. Sucks to have Russia on the permanent security council to veto their own war aggression essentially. None of this matters to Putin of course, or in general really, but interesting to see diplomatic pressure and strategy play out in real time based on the organizations actual purpose, etc.

Yes if you turn the sound all the way up on the live stream you'll hear lots of distant explosions. I wouldn't say they're in Kyiv proper though, sounds more like fighting 10-20 miles from the city. Definitely can tell there's some fierce fighting going on though.

Stand up to him how? Do you mean put our troops in Ukraine to fight the Russian military that's in Ukraine, or something else?

Doesn't seem like much. Considering a simple bridge destruction stopped them at one point. Plus, whobthe hell flies an il-76 into a hotzone.

When they took Crimea in 2014 they only had rpg's. Cant stop tanks with that. Now they have NLAWS and Javelin's. Turns a t90 into a coke can.

Trump sent them plenty, probably not enough though. We sat around for 2 months and did nothing till the last 2 weeks. This administration is an absolute joke, Nato is a joke.

Anyone seeing info on Russian assault south of Kyiv? Assume the il-76 was heading there. Did they get a lot more of them in? Ukraine able to respond and at least contest that airbase?

I haven't seen anything other than it has happened (IL-76) or is happening (fighting north and south of Kyiv).

They have thermobarics in their arsenal, both bombs and rocket artillery iirc. I'm wondering if what we're seeing is more cruise missile strikes.

Russia has the capital encircled and complete superiority on land sea and air within 48 hours, so no.
