The Chechens have come to an accommodation with Putin. Their national guard units which act as a personal army for their leader are assisting the invasion. That tipped me off its a real invasion. You don't move those guys without a big reason.

This is what could make this go sideways for Putin in a hurry…the WILL of the Ukrainian people. If this is what they are prepared to do, this will get ugly very quickly and has the potential to embarrass Putin on the global stage. Scary thing is that I don't believe Putin will allow that to happen and is willing to escalate to any level to avoid it.

If there are still Indians in Russia that is huge, they have been slowly shifting purchasing from US to Russia/Chinese equipment. Getting them back to the USA would be a big win.

And seriously we need something better than the Patriot missile system, the S400 is better.

I don't see us leasing out even a Los Angeles Class. The tech on our boats is just too sensitive. I think we could help them design and develop a sub though. That was the initial reason why they wanted to lease their current Akula class from Russia iirc.
