Russian propaganda on the evilness of Ukraine and benign nature of Russia are skyrocketing following recent strikes on Moscow. You'd think Russia had just been minding their own business when Ukraine began attacking, unprovoked and out of the blue, to hear it from the bots and useful idiots. Now Russia absolutely MUST "take the gloves off" and get serious. Because they've been purposefully merciful in sparing civilian lives and infrastructure as an act of good will, to this point, they'll tell you. The absurd hypocrisy would be mind blowing if we hadn't already seen four consistent years of it.

It would be a great time for a drone attack with all those helicopters flying around.

With their drone tech and battlefield experience with them, Ukraine may find themselves with one of the most powerful militaries in the world after this is over.

The modern battlefield has changed.

May want to edit that first one before you get nailed for circumventing profanity filters. Hate to see you catch time off. I always have to double check myself too. Easy to miss sometimes.

"In Moscow, communal bucket lifts equipped with armed soldiers have begun to be deployed; these soldiers are to serve as mobile anti-aircraft defense points for shooting down Ukrainian drones.

Armed military personnel in the baskets of ordinary lifts have been photographed and spotted directly near the modern skyscraper complex "Moscow-City" as well as in the vicinity of the Moscow Oil Refinery in the Kapotnya district.

Independent media, including The Moscow Times, as well as experts, indicate that the drastic intensification of security measures in Moscow itself is linked to Vladimir Putin's paranoid fears of a potential assassination attempt using kamikaze drones."

I was going to make a joke about Russia trying to do something like this and they beat me to it with actually doing it.

This sits awkwardly with the narrative promoted by many pro-Russian far-right figures in the West, who portray Russia as the last defender of a "white Christian Europe" while claiming that all Western countries are being overrun by migrants from the East and the Muslim world.

All of that bull**** about Russia defending 'traditional Christian civilization,' while an outside observer could easily mistake much of today's scenes from Moscow for somewhere like Tehran.

Seeing how that lid blew off at the refinery makes me wonder if the same engineer was behind the T-series tank turret designs!

As spectacular as the footage is from hitting storage tanks shouldn't they be targeting more critical equipment that's more costly to replace?

The storage tank was hit by a Russian missile. Bonus damage

Well they are floating tank covers.

Actually they are not floating tank roofs but cone roofs. They are designed per API 650 standards in which the roof has what is called a frangible joint, the weakness joint on the tank in order to behave just as it did when exploding.

Doesn't say theyre not hitting cracking towers. But the psychological damage is Putin cant hide thousand foot tall pillars of burning crude/products. People can see Ukes are hitting close to home and Putin cant deny/hide the evidence. Lomg gas lines. Shortage of goods.

They do need to go after power generation as well, so the average can sit in the dark while their food rots.

Or the Chernobyl pressure vessel lid. Russians just don't like lids.

Ukraine opens foreign fighter recruitment to the private sector.

Ukraine's Ministry of Defence
@DefenceU
is preparing a new system that would allow licensed recruitment companies to bring foreign volunteers into the Armed Forces.

Under the proposal, agencies could receive up to 300,000 UAH ($7,200) per recruit, with payments tied not only to recruitment, but also to onboarding, training support and adaptation.

Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov
@FedorovMykhailo
says several organisations have already helped bring thousands of foreign volunteers to Ukraine. The goal now is to scale the process through a transparent and regulated framework.

Why it matters:
Ukraine is moving from ad hoc recruitment to an institutional model.
The war is increasingly competing for global talent, not just manpower.
Foreign volunteers remain an important source of combat experience and specialised skills.

The government is expected to review the proposal in the coming weeks.
