With Omicron I'm no longer on sold on a military mandate. However, it is a legal order so I will follow it and enforce it until I'm told not to.

To be honest I have followed STM through a lot of threads over the year....while I have not always agreed there have been times that he/she made some sense....

I cannot even begin to express my anger towards STM's stance. And the many that follow suit.

I have so much respect for the military. My middle son is planning to enroll at the AF Academy next year. My oldest will be in the Corps at A&M next year and plans to enroll upon graduation. I am more against the mandate by military brass than I am the "disobeying of order" by military service people. We should be stopping and fighting such orders before they are required to be followed. Not handing out pamphlets and coaching hesitant people to get a jab they DO NOT NEED.

If there were a bigger breakdown I might be inclined to agree with you. But I can't get 60% compliance in barely anything with my unit. And yet, with this vaccine, it's near 100%. And it was damn near 90% before the mandate. There simply isn't a groundswell of support in the military to oppose these vaccines. When you get in to less than 1% refusal you are finding problem soldiers in my opinion.

And to be clear, if I were President I would not mandate military mandates for vaccination in light of Omicron. It appears to be less harmful than the flu and spreads too easily to avoid vaccination.

Its a shame.

It is not my job, nor almost every single service member's job, to "look at the data". That is the role of the CDC and our civilian leadership, and to a lesser extent USAMRID and MEDCOM, both of which have supported the vaccine.

I am going to have to go there b/c at some point it has to....

if the military brass started requiring adderall (or some other stimulant...maybe meth like the Nazi soliders) for all service members to increase focus would you be ok with that? It is not harmful and would be an order....

My attitude regarding this topic far exceeds the issue of vaccination. Dissention and disrespect are at, what I feel, is an all time high in the military. NCO's have their hands tied on multiple fronts regarding discipline and enforcement. The new soldiers are constantly disrespectful, question everything, harder to stay on focus and mission. It's rampant and its rotting things from the inside out. So yes, it's a peeve of mine and perhaps some of that is spilling over here in regards to my jaded attitude. So if you're looking for what I get heated or turn into a mega-******* on this topic maybe that's why.

Fine but quit mocking people who are likely RIGHT in their medical decisions.

Also...the military has nowhere to look but its BRASS for the leadership issues. That is a tone at the top and it stinks...don't blame the staff....blame the executives....

I think when you get to that point it's best to just get out. This machine does not work if all of us are trying to take over the controls. I don't like MANY of the decisions made above my head. Specifically, the inclusion of females in infantry units, or the forced acceptance of social issues. But I have to tolerate and enforce them. Many times it's overwhelmingly. If it gets to the point I can't, then I'm out.
