They're trying to doctor a photo to make it look like Kyle pointed his rifle at someone - right after he set down the fire extinguisher - and that this alleged aggression is what sparked the response from Ziminski and Rosenbaum.
It is pretty pivotal.
If Kyle actually did brandish his rifle, thereby enraging them, then the state can argue he instigated the attack, and it wasn't self defense.

Anything asked of Kyle should be asked of anyone else there.
If it's not ok for him to be there because there's rioting and violence, why are we excusing the presence and actions of the rioters? Why are their victims not entitled to self defense because they've created a dangerous situation?
This is pretty bizarre. The people that are out to get Rittenhouse just won't even look at this part of the argument. Somehow they had a right to be there burning and looting and pillaging with guns from farther away.
The defense really needs to hammer those comparisons in closing.

Also, prosecutors just announced that they think Kyle lied about getting body armor from a police department and that he's enrolled at an AZ school. The prosecutors are looking for witnesses to impeach him on those facts.
