That would be a huge mistake for them.
Right now they're getting paid while still making headway towards complete takeover. They don't want to bite the hand that is feeding them and force us into bombing the shlt out of Kabul.
They'll sit back and collect the pallets of cash we're sending them until everyone is gone then the shlt will really hit the fan.
They've got us by the nuts without even engaging.

At #Kabul Airport US forces etc are using Flash Grenades, tear Gas and even firing live rounds in the air to stop people coming into the airport compound. It's breaking down. Can't remain in an untenable position for very long. Why I asked when it was reported about the additional troops being sent what was the plan to get them back out?TChaney said:At #Kabul Airport US forces etc are using Flash Grenades, tear Gas and even firing live rounds in the air to stop people coming into the airport compound. Of course there was a way to do this more organized and safely.
Start shutting things down and shipping people home over several weeks WITHOUT TELLING THE WORLD WHAT WE ARE DOING! Keep essential staff ONLY. Once they are gone; collect equipment in central locations, set explosives. Blow it all up and head home. Troops are the last one's there to wrap it all up. Peace out.
Yes, it's more complicated then that. But f me if this couldn't have been done better!

Biden announces the withdrawal in late April. By the end of May, the Taliban was already advancing and capturing provinces and installing checkpoints on major roads there. Outposts were established as well.Beat40 said:

I hate how all of this has played out and think it's a complete disaster, but honestly, IF warning was given prior to pull out, it wouldn't surprise me that people did decide to stay until the last minute. There are those people. I do think they were under the impression that they would have 60 days rather than a week to get to Kabul to get out as that's been what was communicated as the expected time table from the administration, so I'm not blaming them.
Honestly, if there was intelligence that the country would fall as fast as it actually did, the government definitely had a responsibility to communicate that to the people who were still there days before we officially pulled out, even if it meant going door to door. Curious if that part even happened.

Biden didn't change the time plan in reaction other than moving it up to August 31st.
It was July 2nd when Bagram was abandoned unexpectedly and under cover of night. The first "holy crap" moment for Americans there. But then...
July 8th, Biden is telling his audiences at home and abroad that the ANA would hold Afghanistan together without any problems. Sigh of relief.
July 23, US General McKenzie announces our forces will resume air strikes in support of the ANA against the Taliban advances. Another sigh of relief as our forces are still in control of the air.
August 2, Afghan President says the abrupt withdrawal of US forces is causing the security forces and the ANA to deteriorate. Another oh crap moment.
Early days of August, Kandahar and Herat fall.
August 6, province of Nimruz falls to the Taliban.
More provinces fall. August 10 Biden says he does not regret his decision.
By August 12th-13th, it was over. August 14th-Taliban on the outskirts of Kabul.
August 14th. Four days or so ago. Panic sets in at that point. But it is too late.

The hell? The Brits have a quarter of the troops we have there at Kabul International and they've been running extract missions all day grabbing Brits and Germans and bringing them back to the airport with Taliban blessing.
This administration sucks donkey d*cks.
