Someone should ask Milley what has been a bigger priority over the last 7 months: Transgender troops, race based diversity training, or planning a strategic withdrawal from Afghanistan that doesn't turn into Saigon 2.0.

You have to remember, most of these people are appointed political donors. Hardly any of of them have real world experience in any of this.

We're seriously taking this seriously, guys. We only look like we're completely incompetent, tone deaf, and completely unprepared, and this is really Donald Trump's fault because 7 months wasn't enough time to plan for how to get people out of the country without looking like morons.

I literally laughed out loud watching online when that happened. Absolutely inexcusable how stupid these "leaders" are. All the Americans over there are ****ed and everyone knows it. It is literally common ****ing sense that the military would be the last ones there before leaving the country.

Hell I could have warned them and I have zero foreign intelligence experience. Anyone that has paid casual attention to our time in Afghanistan would know this. The Afghan government and military has been nothing but unreliable.

The SecDef is a retired General Officer like GEN Milley. He should be capable of answering these high level questions. His inability to decisively answer these questions tells me all I need to know about our ability to rescue our people.

You're right. I bet what happened was that over the course of 20 years people got complacent and never put much thought in to how a pull-out would work and how to execute it. People kept kicking the can down the road hoping that they wouldn't be the ones that would have to deal with it since it's so messy/complicated. They knew the Afghans would turn tail and didn't want to plan for it.

The problem is is that Joe tore up any remaining road to kick the can down very quickly and nobody had any idea what to do.

Mind you were increasing hostages inside the airport (via military) and still not sending patrols in conjunction with paras to get our guys out.

We're creating bigger problems and a bigger payout for the Taliban for being absolute morons
