I fear the killing fields of Cambodia will be eclipsed in Afghanistan.

1.7 million were killed.

I have been to those sites in Cambodia, including S-21. Horrible ...

Dear President Biden

Is this your plan, letting US citizens decide," "who are trying to figure out when they can run for it.".

How much thought and planning went into this decision? I mean you planned for every contingency, right?

Not sure about the validity on the timeline for the self flagellation video, who knows?

Our media is a complete joke at this time and people are getting information from very unreliable sources.

British soldiers used to be bad ass.

That really hasn't been the case for years.

Now they are showing bigger balls and desire to get their people to safety than the US forces?

Sigh.

I know what you are saying, but I wouldn't say US Forces. More like US Leadership. Those guys on the ground would risk their life to go door to door to get fellow Americans out. They have proven that over and over. Our leadership are the ones with the small balls

It's a problem of orders. The brits have theirs, and our guys have theirs. Their orders are ballsier than ours because ours come from an incompetent p***y who can't be bothered to interrupt his vacation.

New report filed from a sky news reporter on scene. Brits are coordinating in person with Taliban outside the gates. Looks like they are sending a team of troops back-and-forth to get people from nearby locations. They are not doing this without permission. It is actively being coordinated.

Yep we're gonna abandon our own . That's what that says. This is utter bull**** and we're gonna delay our departure and eventually get attacked
What do you expect from the crew that abandoned our people in Benghazi.

I know I will be called a warmongering Neo-Con for agreeing with much of what he said - but I thought it was a great speech. I very much agree with this part.

Quote:

Because we know that patience wins. We know it because we have achieved it, we know it because we have delivered it. The cold war was won with patience. Cypress is at peace with patience. South Korea - with more than 10 times the number of troops that America had in Afghanistan - is prosperous through patience.

So let's stop talking about forever wars. Let's recognize that forever peace is bought not cheaply, but hard, through determination and the will to endure and that the tragedy of Afghanistan is that we're swapping that patient achievement for a second fire and a second war.

And this sick burn by the Brit to our commander in chief - ouch.

Quote:

To see their commander in chief call into question the courage of men I fought with. To claim that they ran. Shameful.

Those who have never fought for the colors they fly should be careful about criticizing those who have.

I was all on the get out of there train until our very own poster Allen gave his thoughts. Now, I see it might make some sense to sticking around.

Either way, the way this pull out was handled is incredibly shameful, embarrassing and completely below us as a nation.

This pullout has beyond embarrassing. It's done more to damage our foreign relations and reputation than anything Trump ever did. It's a sad isn't that Biden was supposed to "fix" everything Trump "broke."

Slight derail.

I know Twitter is not exactly a reliable source for news.

A couple of points to consider though.

The US media has used photos and video that were not of the events as they unfolded.
This has happened on countless occasions and even now it is not exception.

There will be more mis/disinformation both from social media and traditional media.

It's what we have access to, just try to filter it as best you can.

Scroll halfway down the article - photo used as current but is actually from a few years ago.

Whaaaattt? You mean the Tailban didn't live up the their promises? No way!!!!!!

Two questions:

1. How much have you already paid them for "safe passage?"
2. Now that the Tailban has broken the agreement,, do you have a plan to go get our people?

Evacuation of American citizens from Afghanistan the top priority: Milley

"The situation is still very dangerous, very dynamic, and very fluid," Joints Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley said at the Pentagon Wednesday.

All American citizens who want to get out of Afghanistan are the government's top priority, he said. And the military is also working to help U.S. allies escape the country.

About 5,000 people have been evacuated so far, according to Milley.

"This is personal, and we're gonna get them out," he said.
