That would be a huge mistake for them.

Right now they're getting paid while still making headway towards complete takeover. They don't want to bite the hand that is feeding them and force us into bombing the shlt out of Kabul.

They'll sit back and collect the pallets of cash we're sending them until everyone is gone then the shlt will really hit the fan.

They've got us by the nuts without even engaging.

After pallets of cash for safe passage, why not double down, seal off the airport and ransom hostages. They get more money and further humiliate their great satan. Win, win.

That same lying POS just said - in the last couple of days - that they had a contingency plan for everything and it was all planned out.... now, they always expected chaos?

It's breaking down. Can't remain in an untenable position for very long. Why I asked when it was reported about the additional troops being sent what was the plan to get them back out?

There isn't one.

What a moron!

Of course there was a way to do this more organized and safely.

Start shutting things down and shipping people home over several weeks WITHOUT TELLING THE WORLD WHAT WE ARE DOING! Keep essential staff ONLY. Once they are gone; collect equipment in central locations, set explosives. Blow it all up and head home. Troops are the last one's there to wrap it all up. Peace out.

Yes, it's more complicated then that. But f me if this couldn't have been done better!

I literally laughed out loud watching online when that happened. Absolutely inexcusable how stupid these "leaders" are. All the Americans over there are ****ed and everyone knows it. It is literally common ****ing sense that the military would be the last ones there before leaving the country.

Nothing like knowing an army full of rag tag sandal wearing guys who cant read has the biggest army in the world by the balls right now.
This is the **** that happens when you make diversity hires

Our leader is so brave, willing to risk his life and the life of those around him for what he believes. He took off his mask that is to let everyone see how irate he is.

China should strike a deal with the taliban to let Chinese soldiers escort Americans to the airport. That would just be perfect.

Then, China should step into the American embassy and raise their flag.

I'm curious about the timeline of events because I've seen a quote from one of the WH officials on twitter.

They said over the past several weeks they notified American citizens to leave or be in Kabul and that many chose to stay until the last moment. Is there any proof of this?

I hate how all of this has played out and think it's a complete disaster, but honestly, IF warning was given prior to pull out, it wouldn't surprise me that people did decide to stay until the last minute. There are those people. I do think they were under the impression that they would have 60 days rather than a week to get to Kabul to get out as that's been what was communicated as the expected time table from the administration, so I'm not blaming them.

Honestly, if there was intelligence that the country would fall as fast as it actually did, the government definitely had a responsibility to communicate that to the people who were still there days before we officially pulled out, even if it meant going door to door. Curious if that part even happened.

Right. He is a big part of the reason.

I bet Xi could do it if they were Chinese trapped.

The hell? The Brits have a quarter of the troops we have there at Kabul International and they've been running extract missions all day grabbing Brits and Germans and bringing them back to the airport with Taliban blessing.

This administration sucks donkey d*cks.

They are full of *****

It was reported yesterday we rotated in a new group of staff to the embassy last Thursday. Do you think we would have done that if we thought it was going to fall within 72 hours?

This administration is clueless, or Xi told them to proceed as normal for maximum humiliation.

Maybe both.

Biden announces the withdrawal in late April. By the end of May, the Taliban was already advancing and capturing provinces and installing checkpoints on major roads there. Outposts were established as well.

Biden didn't change the time plan in reaction other than moving it up to August 31st.

It was July 2nd when Bagram was abandoned unexpectedly and under cover of night. The first "holy crap" moment for Americans there. But then...

July 8th, Biden is telling his audiences at home and abroad that the ANA would hold Afghanistan together without any problems. Sigh of relief.

July 23, US General McKenzie announces our forces will resume air strikes in support of the ANA against the Taliban advances. Another sigh of relief as our forces are still in control of the air.

August 2, Afghan President says the abrupt withdrawal of US forces is causing the security forces and the ANA to deteriorate. Another oh crap moment.

Early days of August, Kandahar and Herat fall.

August 6, province of Nimruz falls to the Taliban.

More provinces fall. August 10 Biden says he does not regret his decision.

By August 12th-13th, it was over. August 14th-Taliban on the outskirts of Kabul.

August 14th. Four days or so ago. Panic sets in at that point. But it is too late.

Abandoning Bagram before our people and assets were out of the region has got to go down as one of the biggest military blunders of all time.

It really should be followed by a ceremonial suicide. Never should have gone out of style for failure.

No doubt. The fact that the Taliban has decided not to attack is the only thing keeping this debacle from reaching fall of the Philippines levels of humiliating and terrible.

You know we have the capability, and i guarantee every one of those soldiers would rather go out there and rescue the afghans that fought alongside them.

This administration only cares about appearances and they do not want the visual of a dead american soldier on our TV screens. So, Look! Masks!!
