Seeing some chatter from some people connected in the middle east, on Iraq and Iran news they are initially calling it a terrorist attack that killed at least 1 high ranking official. I do not have time to search but they spell Hezbollah Hizb Alh

They are currently having a spike, but seems pretty mild. They're only testing at about 1/4th the rate we are so the actual numbers could be higher.

I'm in awe of explosions and fire in general, wow

The Chinese explosion was mainly in an an industrial area correct?

I do feel for the people of Beirut being blown completely off guard. Civilian causalities are going to be devastating.

Does anyone know of any vetted charities in the area?

They have been teaching at international schools for the past 12 years. They had been getting ready for their third year in Beirut before deciding last week to opt out of their contract because of the financial crisis. They are heading back to Texas in a few weeks.

Clearly you can't accept that it wasn't the grain elevator that was the big explosion. What will it take for you to see otherwise? All video evidence thus far is pretty clear that it was the building in front of the elevator that exploded.

Seems to show that at least some silos blew up/out.

The grain elevator didn't explode. That damage is from an external explosion knocking parts of the support structure away via the concussion.
