It's interesting they invited us (the USA).
I wonder if the recent peace deal, Irani stuff catching fire, and criminal charges proceeding against the former administration (including the Ukraine charges against Biden) have shook up the Lebanese who don't support Hezbollah enough to openly allow exposure.

Agree. I didn't expect them to invite us for help either. The French is a no brainer since it used to be a French protectorate.

So we'll see how that goes.

I was just going to post the same thing.

Fantastic recreation of Hangar 12, the explosion, and the aftermath. The breakdown of how the port works was interesting too.

unfortunately that wont accomplish much. Lebanon gon Lebanon and this kind of thing will happen again and again, not because any individual is incompetent or malfeasant, but because they have a dysfunctional system from top to bottom. The kind of thing you get when AOC-level stupidity runs your government for any length of time

I would disagree with the AOC part of this. Her type of overreach extreme government would be on the complete opposite scale requiring a company to only store one bag of Ammonium nitrate per warehouse and be 20 miles from the nearest residence. Then the company would have to pay massive taxes for that one bag.

On who? This was due to government incompetence. Granted all of the people involved who ignored the warnings from inspectors should be shot, but still.
