IMO these timeline charts are pretty worthless and very misleading. People just glance at these and freak out. "Oh my gosh this virus is spreading like wildfire!!!"

When in reality I bet this virus has been in the US for several weeks, if not months. Most people figured it was the common flu, cold or seasonal allergies and went about their life as normal. Fast forward to today and now everyone is freaking out ,if they so much sneeze or cough they rush to be tested.

That explains the exponential spike in cases but who needs to know the details when you can just glance at a chart.

At this point, I just wish the good ole US of A had a much more reliable denominator. Maybe we would all be feeling a lot better if we did.

Also, wish we had some more recent communication on testing from the CDC becauase I thought that was supposed to be ramped up by the end of last week.

Really botching an opportunity to ease some fears or at least limit wild speculation about the state of America by not trying to actively determine the total number of cases.

My kids were sick a few weeks ago and we took them to our local pediatrician/pcp.

They tested negative for flu & negative for strep, and when I asked about testing them for corona they said they didn't have the capabilities to test quite yet.

I think this is a significantly under-reported problem that is only going to make the spread of this virus 10x worse.

Who knows... maybe we are walking around with coronas right now even though we are not thirsty!
