IMO these timeline charts are pretty worthless and very misleading. People just glance at these and freak out. "Oh my gosh this virus is spreading like wildfire!!!"

When in reality I bet this virus has been in the US for several weeks, if not months. Most people figured it was the common flu, cold or seasonal allergies and went about their life as normal. Fast forward to today and now everyone is freaking out ,if they so much sneeze or cough they rush to be tested.

That explains the exponential spike in cases but who needs to know the details when you can just glance at a chart.

A faculty member from this department told me this virus would never reach the US because of containment measures China took...Ironically he also trained the Chinese CDC.

Experts are only relying upon previous data and experience...which is logical. However, this is a "novel" situation. They are, as we hear in science all the time, making the best judgement...at the time.

I"m beginning to think we should put our plans on hold and bug out of the Bay area and go some place remote.

It made its way into a nursing facility in Washington State and killed 17 people I believe. That is the majority of deaths in the US as a result of CV-19 from what I understand.

You think the first time these old people came into contact with anyone else that was infected from it being "all over the US since early January" was with that tour group?
