So you've got an entire country under quarantine, an NHL team that will be playing in an empty stadium and the capital city of one of the largest states in the nation banning gatherings of over 2,500 people for 2 months... but you'll still have a handful of posters tell you that this really isn't anything.
The response from a bunch of entities not being guided by objective, rational scientific reasoning really have bearing on nature or severity of the outbreak.
This may or may not be a "big deal", but the fact is all of this is being driven by media fueled hysteria.

Wonder what this means for Sip baseball games. And they just killed any chance they had of hosting an NCAA WBB pod. The 40 acres cannot be happy. Not one bit.

I've been looking for one image that sums up most of what I have read in this mega-hysterical multi-hundred page thread...I think I may have finally found it.

The university has stated that because they are a state facility they aren't bound by the city requirements and that they would form their own plan on how to handle large gatherings of people

if some entities overreact, that doesn't mean that the situation is as dire as their actions might convey. I think The updated actual statistics we get on the mortality rate and the rate of spread are infinitely more useful than what an NHL franchise is doing. But maybe you disagree...Proposition Joe said:

Is this the new normal with social media? H1N1 was taking people out in the 18-65 demographic and we didn't see what we are witnessing today.
South Park and comics everywhere are having material written for them.

What are people claiming the CDC is lying about? I must have missed that.Proposition Joe said:
I dont disagree. But at this point its foolish to continue to act like this is all purely media driven.
Some posters made up their minds that this was a nothing burger months ago and have dug their heels in so far theyll listen to a blowhard like Clay Travis but claim the CDC is lying to make sure Trump isnt re-elected.
My trip to Italy was suppose to start today. It's in a region that wasn't on lockdown before. In the end about 15-20 people made their way and they were able to have a few tours still on the schedule. Keep in mind the Italy portion kept telling us this was all hype, nothing to worry about. They were so laid back about it. They got the word about keeping people so many meters apart, or not taking vans, so any day trips that were in a van were cancelled. I guess they toured around the city today and while they were eating dinner the press conference came on. Everyone was stunned. The Italian person suddenly went from the most carefree laid back person to "Get out immediately". I have one friend that was able to book a flight to Malta. Another decided to stay because she thinks her odds are better there than in the UK. Another person is going through Budapest but not until tomorrow so we will see if she makes it out.techno-ag said:Panico. Mama mia!Infection_Ag11 said:cone said:
