Think I called 400 pages. That's about where the corona will end in Texas. Trump was right. Again.

Pretty sure most, if not all, in Texas are related to international travel with the majority being from an Egyptian tour. Not 100% sure, but don't believe I've seen a P2P case in Texas yet. Haven't dug that deep either though.

You're correct. Thus my confusion when I'm told it's widespread and available at local mall.

How widespread is it in Texas? I haven't heard of a single case in many larger cities.

I'm not sure your statements are factually correct.

Several in Houston (6 or seven?)

A new one from Del Webb Sweetgrass in Richmond, Tx (Ft bend co near sugar land) this morning.

What's the point if it's already wide spread and you can get it at your local grocery store or mall?

If it is and you pick it up at the mall you will have mild cold symptoms for a few days and then get over it. Some may have already had it and gotten over it without having a clue.

Those in their 70's, already with poor health conditions, and/or living in a nursing facility are the only ones that need to be careful.

I think Harris/Ft. Bend/Montgomery is actually a tad higher from an article I saw earlier. Another person from Egypt that was on a tour a week later than the others. Leads me to believe there is an employee on the tour that was a super carrier.

Edit:
The 11 number I got was healthcare workers told to say home. My bad

Never ceases to amaze me how so many people can be against their fellow citizens.

Related to international travel I thought.

And again that's not wide spread.

I'm going to grocery store. I'm probably 1,000 times more likely to have a wreck than getting this virus at the store.

So the country that was ground zero for this is beginning to wind down. This country is ~20% of the world's population. All said and done it looks like they'll have less than 4,000 deaths all while having worse health and horrid healthcare compared to the rest of the developed nations.

.00000235294% of their population....Now, back to your next regularly scheduled apocalypse.

Ground zero (metro area of 19M+ people) was under Marshall law (welding homes shut, forcibly taking people with fevers away) to keep it contained.

But, sure.
I think people are hyped up because the videos coming out of China were startling (to us). That's the key, to us, because we are a free society with a superior health system. China is a communist nation where the government runs everything -- including the heath care system. China has the ability to react the way they did without any consequences to the government. People started to think what if that happened here - which would be life altering in the US to have the government welding doors and dragging away people with fevers. Those images helped fuel the panic you are seeing today. I guarantee you this isn't the first time China has responded in this fashion to a health crisis in their country. The internet has allowed us an opportunity to see more of China than in the past.

I understand all of this. I was responding to the poster that used China's rate at which new cases are slowing as some sort of proof it's a media hoax.

The prevailing theory among scientists across the world is that what China did worked and it's the reason numbers are slowing. In fact, China is now experiencing a backflow of new cases from travelers returning home from Italy, etc.

And, no, I'm not advocating Martial law in the US am not a "cheerleader" hoping for my fellow Americans to get sick/die. I do think we need to take the warning signs from Italy, Wuhan, etc. seriously and stop downplaying to the flu though.

There are some of us that strive to see the true reality of this epidemic. My wife is particularly vulnerable to this virus. I won't lose anything on my 401k as I moved my funds out of stocks on Jan. 27 in spite of all the optimistic projections by my financial advisors. I didn't post about it here because I didn't want others to panic or call me crazy. However, I am already feeling the negative economic impact caused by this virus on my business. I still see a very bumpy ride ahead, but I am optimistic that science and technology will severely blunt the impact on the economy and personal health. Just my two cents.

I would avoid anything that Gates works on. He's been quoted on a number of occasions (here's one) as wanting to lower the earth's population to protect mother Gaia.

One of his vaccines sterilized large amounts of people in Africa.

Gate's father was a eugenicist and was the head of planned parenthood. There's a reason Gates is pushing his plans so heavily in Africa.

If I'm not mistaken, Gates is an owner of Moderna, who happens to be developing a Vaccine for the Kung Flu (which another one of his organizations owns the patent on). How convenient. I won't be signing up to receive one of these when they hit the market.
