That's not what I meant when I brought up mutation. The mutation, as I understood it, was enough to make the virus unidentifiable by your adaptive immune system to efficiently create the antibodies (edit: originally said antigens... sorry) to fight the virus... ie, it has to go through the process from scratch to begin producing proper antibodies (edit: originally wrote antigens). If I was incorrect on that, I apologize. That said, I'm glad I voiced my understanding and was subsequently corrected... otherwise I would still have the misunderstanding. It's not a matter of trying to frustrate the folks who are experts.
