"Climate Change"
When you fall to your knees and ask God for help, don’t forget to fall back on your knees and say ‘thank you’ when He answers.- Steve Torrence
They no longer do this for thyroid cancer patients. They're sent home with common sense instructions to avoid close contact with people for five days. My understanding is that the old way of handling this put hospital workers at needless risk. Unfortunately I know this from recent experience.Big Al 1992 said:VaultingChemist said:
How many people on this thread have actually been quarantined at some point in their life?
Blue star this post if you have ever been quarantined.
FTR, I spent five days in a hospital bed with no visitors for possibly being infected with typhoid. I was bored out of mind even with a TV.
Anyone treated with radioactive iodine - example thyroid cancer - is quarantined 3-5 days and everything they touch is discarded through haz mat procedures. Most major hospitals have a few rooms set up for this.
This. Governments can't keep human sized people from crossing their borders in one way or another but people think they can stop a virus.I Have Spoken said:
I don't get why people think any government could really be equipped to handle this type of issue.
The issue is primarily the size of the water droplets that are much larger on which the virus is hitching a ride. But depending on the temperature and humidity, the virus can be floating free.JJMt said:But is the issue the size of the virus, or the size of the water or vapor barriers on which the virus is hitching a ride?VaultingChemist said:For comparison, if the virus was the size of a softball, the holes in the N95 mask would be large enough to let a basketball pass through.cisgenderedAggie said:
Virus is too small for a surgical mask to filter out, that much is true. Surgical masks are for keeping your sputum in.
I think you may not have the best view of the situation.Rossticus said:
I don't buy that the whistleblower doc wasn't offed. He levied heavy criticism and said that this got out of hand due to suppression of free speech. He and his associates were put down by the CCP. I'd bet money on it.
You know, that would be an interesting bet to take. I wonder if 538 would write a piece on it.Nuclear Scramjet said:one MEEN Ag said:Oh man, this is going to screw up all the athletes steroid cycles.KorbinDallas said:

La Joya ISD monitoring students who visited SA mall
According to a statement, the school district says a group of students traveled to Round Rock for a competition on the weekend of February 29th trough March 2nd.
The statement goes on to say the students had lunch at the North Star Mall on Monday March 2nd. Officials in San Antonio say one woman who tested positive for COVID-19 was in the same mall over the weekend.
The district says officials with the Hidalgo County Health Department were immediately notified and were informed that none of the students or staff members were in direct contact or at risk at any point.

I think the only thing not discussed are how this may be planted here by an alien race to clear us out before settling this planet for themselves.
- World embracing deceptive Christianity - starting to see this now, Churches welcoming homosexual marriage
- Wars on a scale not experienced in history
- Famine on a global scale - could happen if Sanders is elected
- Disease and epidemics will plague the world - Corona virus
- Jewish priests will begin animal sacrifices again
All these events will result in roughly 2 billion deaths world wide.
I'm good with a religious discussion but maybe this conversation is best had in a separate thread. You know how it gets when the R&P folks show up on a non-R&P thread.
You may not fully understand my passive aggressive comment because I don't believe I've seen you post much. The reason I made the comment is because I've been saying since about Feb. 10th-ish that my plants in the mainland were back open and I had cargo on ships headed for N. America from Zhuhai (Port of Gaolan) and posters told me that I was just believing the Chinese government and didn't know what my own plant and employees were doing.P.U.T.U said:
We are actually getting product from China now and a few manufactures said they are back up to full speed. I really do not believe it but it is China so if they want to save their economy I can see them forcing people back to work.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The outbreak of COVID-19, better known as coronavirus, has caused a Galveston-based cruise liner to divert course away from its original destinations in the Caribbean.
The Carnival cruise ship Freedom was bound for Jamaica and Grand Cayman. On Tuesday, the company confirmed it was diverting course to the Key West Naval Yard in Florida.
In a statement by Carnival, it elected to make the change this week given uncertainty over policies with the countries involved:
We are implementing some itinerary changes on voyages scheduled to call on Grand Cayman and Jamaica this week. A number of Caribbean destinations continue to work through their policies with regards to cruise ship visits. And while we are following all U.S. CDC and World Health Organization screening protocols and guidelines, we want to avoid any possibility of a visit to a destination where there is uncertainty or we risk being turned away.
To be clear, there is no health situation on board to trigger this concern, but we are making this change to avoid even the possibility of a disruption. We understand some guests will be disappointed and trust they will understand that this decision is being made to protect their vacation and maximize their experience with us.

Two more deaths announced in Washington. At least one connected to the nursing home. Odds are the other is as well, but none of the articles I've seen have said it.
Of new cases, two are unknown exposure. The rest all are connected to the nursing home (visitors/staff/family of residents).

Not that I've seen, but since the one of the first people to be diagnosed with it was an employee, that would be the most likely.JJMt said:
Do they know how it got to the nursing home?

HANGZHOU, China As China encourages people to return to work despite the coronavirus outbreak, it has begun a bold mass experiment in using data to regulate citizens' lives by requiring them to use software on their smartphones that dictates whether they should be quarantined or allowed into subways, malls and other public spaces.
But a New York Times analysis of the software's code found that the system does more than decide in real time whether someone poses a contagion risk. It also appears to share information with the police, setting a template for new forms of automated social control that could persist long after the epidemic subsides.
It's in the general population now. Has been for weeks.JJMt said:

Grad Student reported that this app is what allows you to go out and such...You input data and tell it you are healthy or not.
He said it is tied to your money account...like apple pay or pay pal.
You tell the app you are healthy, record temps, etc... but if you purchase things for sickness (like medicine) it flags you based on your purchases.
