Prolonged steroid use can cause immunosuppresion- usually > 7 days. Short term can help with symtpoms caused by your immune system overreacting and filling your lungs with snot worsening the respiratory issues. We use them all the time in lung infections like flu, asthma, RSV, croup, laryngitis.

The evidence in normal pneumonia is lacking and generally they are not recommended unless there is also wheezing.

Of course with Coronavirus we don't have data showing yea or nay on steroids. It is something physicians try when you are running out of other options.

The person in San Antonio had been sick and recovered.

The report said the test was "weakly positive" so it may be that the newer tests show positive much more easily than previous ones, so even people who were sick and recovered still show positive for sometime.

The good thing is it should be pretty easy to identify where she was as she was out for less than a day.

No more of these sorts of cases for one thing. If we're releasing people who we think are cured, but in reality still are infected and can pass on the virus isn't a good thing. We need to find out what went wrong here.

NYT is reporting second death in Kirkland.

Just got back from HyVee shopping. They are the only store in town that carries the greatest cereal: Special K Blueberry with Lemon Clusters.


Well, they were kinda picked over in several things, but it might be due to the sales.

They had my cereal. So I got two boxes. But most of the pop tarts were gone. So was most of the pancake mix. Weird.

Pasta was picked over, but it was 10 boxes for 9 dollars. So I assume that is why. I bought several. The big bags of rice were gone too.

Canned foods? Lots of empty space. But once again sales. Super cheap store brand for veggies? 2 cans for 88 cents. Name brand veggies? 3 or
4 for 3 dollars. Most of the beans you put in chili, outside of Texas, were gone.

All the Hidden Valley Ranch was gone. It was 2 for 5 dollars though.

Bread was picked over, but it is Sunday.

All the ground beef was gone, but there was a sale. Lots of ground pork, chicken, lamb, pork, and buffalo.

Toilet paper? Good name brand was gone. Lots of everything else.

Clorox wipes, bleach, etc. Full.

The cold remedies were picked over. Still a lot of tissues and hand sanitizer though.

And for giggles:

All the Crown Royal was gone. As was most of the high end scotch, whiskey, and vodka.


Apparently pop tarts, whiskey, and Charmin toilet paper is What you need for a quarantine

Here we go!

One thing I will take away from this event is how to properly wash hands. I always washed my hands after using the restroom while traveling but I have to admit I was fine with a little soap and 5 seconds of weak bucees water.

None of the articles say for certain, but likely connected to the nursing home.

6 other positive tests, which all appear to be connected to the nursing home.

Probably getting too high to handle now.

The nursing home is going to be problematic....it's essentially a cruise ship Without all of the water.
