I'd bet it's already rampant and we're about to start seeing it now that testing is going to expand. The next two weeks may be problematic.

The initial theory is that it was the woman from SK because the only other case mentioned was the high school student. For whatever reason, the WA officials didn't mention other cases last night, but they clearly knew there were some likely ones.cisgenderedAggie said:OldArmy71 said:IrishTxAggie said:

Have no idea about the reputation of this site. Just googled the town and went to "news" and this was available
That's the same city that the WA patient just died in.
It described the dead patient as a man, but I thought the reports earlier said it was the woman that came from SK on Sunday.

Oh crap.Quote:
Public Health Seattle & King County, Washington State Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are reporting three presumptive positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), including one person who died. This brings the total of presumptive positive cases in King County to four.
- Two of the confirmed cases are associated with LifeCare nursing facility in Kirkland, King County, Washington:
- One is a health care worker from LifeCare. She is a woman in her 40s, is currently in satisfactory condition at Overlake Hospital, and she has no known travel outside the United States.
- The second case, a woman in her 70's, is a resident at LifeCare and is in serious condition at EvergreenHealth Hospital.
- In addition, over 50 individuals associated with LifeCare are reportedly ill with respiratory symptoms or hospitalized with pneumonia or other respiratory conditions of unknown cause and are being tested for COVID-19. Additional positive cases are expected.
- The death occurred in a patient at EvergreenHealth Hospital but was not a resident of the long-term care facility.

Already happened.
Every Republican giving interviews should be saying this. President Trump was not surprised by this and has been monitoring it and making preparations since December. The fact that the Democrats are just now getting concerned about it is telling. Maybe if they weren't so obsessed with all their fake scandals and trying to figure out how to count votes they would have had time to be aware and better understand it while the Trump administration was working diligently to get this country ready as best they could.VaultingChemist said:I put most of the blame on the Democrats. If they weren't actively trying to cripple Trump's administration with spying, impeachment, Russia hoax, etc., Trump and his administration could have have spent more time on addressing this coronavirus health issue.Quote:
The Trump administration's CDC screwed up. Bad testing kits, an extremely low rate of tests is not revisionist history. Its an absolute fact deranged individuals wish to deny just to show their unconditional devotion to their dear leader.
That is not the right way of looking at it. The high percentage of those infected requiring hospitalization is the biggest concern. Once the healthcare systems are swamped, people will start dying from minor health problems unrelated to COVID-19.thirdcoast said:
I don't think COVID is something any healthy person should worry about being physically impacted by any more than the flu. It's more the reaction and fact that with such mild symptoms it's likely infected and spreading wider than reported confirmations. Prob a lot of people who have it but it passes thru them like the common cold and causes no reason to go to doctor.
It is more likely the patient wasn't fully recovered, and the virus surfaced again.Whiskey Jacket said:
Are we certain China's test are working? Claims that people can get it a second time have been rebuked during today's press conference.

Of course this is what Washington is worried about.
They should be more focused on more pressing concerns.

Wonder when this gets to the point where flight attendants start revolting and saying, "I'm not flying today"? (talking more about international flights).

Ok, I am a relatively healthy 48 year old with treated high blood pressure. My wife is a relatively healthy 48 year old with treated high blood pressure. (She is as mean as a snake so I doubt any virus would mess with her). My concern is for my 11 year old. He is a super healthy kid in athletics, but he has horrible asthma. He takes three different inhalers just to run a mile. (With the inhalers he is able to do anything that is asked of him as far as exercise)
Should we be worried about him? Is this an underlying condition?
Thanks and Gig'em.
Well, I tried to introduce humor with the wife joke, but I am concerned about him. I would run through a wood chipper before I let anything happen to him.black_hat_ag said:
Get your kid a tyvex and respirator setup. Should be fine.

No you see racism is more a more egregious sin than even murder, we must always consider it the most pressing thing I all situations. This is why you should go and hug every Asian you see to make them few welcome.
Thanks, we were pouring a concrete footing today and he was the concrete mixer! I think he will be Ok, just wanted to know.UncoverAg00 said:JB!98 said:

2 of my kids have asthma. As I understand it, as long as they maintain their control meds, they should be fine.
It is may not be that they're catching it a second time, but rather the virus was still in their body and came roaring back. Other viruses are known to do this, Ebola being the most notorious.Whiskey Jacket said:

Why do you compare it to the flu? It's not the flu. It's not the same family as the flu. The commonality with the flu is that it is a viral infection so they both cause fever. That's about it.Quote:

It isn't stigma. It's just a fact. Chinese New Year was recently celebrated which means lots of travel between the US and China.
