Did the suspected cases go way down with the new criteria change? I had assumed most of these new clinical cases were "suspected"

In 2009 H1N1 flu infected 60 million Americans. I imagine we are headed there with this one. The massive question is how deadly will it be in a country that isnt polluted like China is not to mention the smoking stats.

While this is true keep in mind the average time from infection to death is something like 3 weeks. So there might be 15k new cases today but we have no idea what will happen to these people.

I think this is a lot like election results - the votes are out there they just haven't been reported. The cases are out there, they just haven't come in from various regions. That's assuming they are being reported accurately in the first place. Those following this are assuming there's 5x more than have been reported - if that number gets reported, was there a sudden spike in infected People or were they out there all along and just got counted.

Have been wondering how far the Chinese gubment can truly go on their lying. With today's tech, it is almost impossible to lock EVERYTHING down. Such as these leaked videos. Sounds like may they have reached a point where fudging the numbers is no longer feasible with the amount of info making it out of the truth. I guarantee every single video we have seen here, has also been seen by the Chinese and when there is enough smoke, even the dumbest person will ask questions. So maybe trying to slowly expand to truer figures so it won't be as blatant when the final tallies come out. When and if they ever do.

Just spitballing a scenario in the rise of numbers we see here.

This... I have a hard time relying on any one source anymore. I'm pretty sure it won't be too much longer before Hollywood is licensing the likeness of actors. Gemini Man was really creepy in that regard.

Outside of economic impact, why is this thread still so focused on China?

Ok so we're counting illnesses differently. Now do it with deaths. If fatalities are classified as something else if the person died from another reason that just happened to have been brought upon by the china virus, cut that **** out.

This is kinda concerning - all of these folks that had been released from quarantine because they tested negative a couple times may now be out and about?

There are test kits with issues (they've not said if the problem is with all of them, one batch, or a specific type), but samples are still being sent to the CDC for specific testing.

The A&M student had his sample tested at the CDC, not using a test kit locally.

RNA viruses mutates easily and often quickly. We don't know if this is RNA or DNA.
