I, too, would like to be educated about what is going on.

From what I have seen and read, hygiene in the US is better than it is in China. We typically use soap and at least have the ability to wash our hands regularly. We are not as comfortable having people in our "personal space" as the Chinese are, and our health departments are more restrictive about food preparation.

We have many ways to communicate that are not censored by the government. (I'm not talking about moderation done by twitter, etc.)

We don't yet have to rely on socialized medicine.

For all of these, I'm thankful, but still cautious.

I am with you. I want to know what is going on too, which is why I am following this thread.

I'm just saying we keep rehashing that we can't trust the Chinese numbers, and then some people throw out a WAG about that it really is.

All I'm saying is I'm cautions about the information on both sides - what's coming out of China as far as their government and reporters. I lean way more toward the reporters but the way.

Overall, my focus is shifting to the Western states as were reaching points where stuff should start showing from all of the initial reports a week and half or two weeks ago.

Wow The WHO is really kissing China's ass... wow.

Also, I don't see how saying we shouldn't believe the Chinese is sensationalism. It's an absolute fact.

Really hoping the CDC uses the WHO announcement as cover to ban all international flights from China or those who have been there from coming home.

Probably shouldn't get my hopes up though.

Internet rumors/speculation is this virus came from the Level 4 Biolab in Wuhan. A doctor there published a paper identifying traits associated with Asians at much higher risk due to ACE2 cells that this virus targets. Terrific story, I know.

No... there are plenty of dirty ass Americans that don't wash their hands. Have you ever watched folks leaving a public bathroom?? I sometimes wonder if they even bother to wipe their ass half the time.
