I can't do that again. I was cautious when the stories first started in January of 2020. Bought gloves, masks, hand sanitizers. Just sat back and watched after that.

People driving from DFW down to small towns in Central Texas to buy every roll of TP was just insane. Soups, bread, pasta aisles gone. Cleared out.

City people are very dumb and very subject to suggestion.

While it is very possible that China is correct in the cause, I wouldn't trust them whatsoever to be telling he truth. The Chinese government lies so much that it makes our government look more honest than Jesus himself.

Large portions of their population are unhealthy and they live in extreme density so China will always be virus outbreak ground zero for most new or existing pathogens. This one is probably a run of something like RSA or some bacteria taking out the next batch of old or unhealthy until it runs its course. Most of these blowups are probably only local or regional in China.

We should probably still mask up, just to be safe.

Had a lot of friends recently with upper respiratory infections and their doctors said there are just a lot of viruses and such going around now. Knew one person that died (elderly heavy smoker) and they had 4 different doctors tell them they had 4 different things. Guess we will find out in a few months if it is just a bunch of random things going around or if it something else. Knocked several kids under 15 on their butt for a few days

Two nurses I know said they are seeing a spike in illnesses at hospitals...just like we have for decades during the time of year. Weather changning, people travelling, etc. and our hospitals were designed to run at almost full capacity most of the time

China and India have very dense populations that are very unhealthy. A bug there spreads quickly. Both have around 30% of their populations as heavy smokers (almost 80% of men smoke in China) and in most places you can smoke in the workplace. Add pollution to the mix and you have a country that is ripe for things like pneumonia.

Probably not related but there has been severe uptick in RSV hospitalizations. My son was one of them. Required supplemental oxygen. And had friends and family (not in close contact with us) with cases as well. A couple were in the ICU.

Travis in Flint is twisting what the actual news reports have said, which was already fear mongering at its worst.

Basically there has been an increase reported illnesses in DC, which is what happens this time every single year in the US. The flu, RSV, and the WuFlu are all active right now, especially the first two. There is no evidence that China's "mysterious illness," if there is even a new pathogen out there, is causing it.

I agree, let's not freak out. But we also have to be wary that "they" will take advantage of another "health crisis" in every way possible. Think of the children!!!! will be the battle cry.....

Just because we don't want it to happen, doesn't mean it won't happen.

Everyone should be ready to apply the lessons they learned over the last three years, because that's exactly what those in charge will do if this is even remotely close to becoming a global pandemic.

Just keep an eye on it, it will probably turn out to be nothing but if it's not you won't be caught off guard.

Like someone pointed out earlier, nothing would make people more hysterical than convincing people that Covid 2.0 is a threat to their kids. That would be worst case scenario. Seems to be trending that way. Seems like this latest narrative started a few weeks ago with a mysterious dog illness, now it seems like affect on children is being highlighted more than it was 2019 early 2020.

According to my watch; they gonna lock your ass down in March. You gonna be 2x boosted by election day 2024 with the new MRNA vaccine made especially for you.

Same thing different year, it is flu and cold season and people are getting sick. Friend's mom past away due to something, another almost died, several kids I know were sick for a week. Like any other respiratory illness, the very young and elderly are the most at risk but pretty much everyone will survive.

The Branch Covidians are salivating at the thought of another pandemic. If they can gin up enough fear, they will make 2020 look like a bad day at the office. If enough people think their kids are doing to die, then it is all over.

We will destroy ourselves "for the children."

Schools and daycare would be closed.

Lockdowns would return with a vengeance.

Parents with children would not go to work, for fear of killing their kids. Many would not leave their house at all.

The economy would grind to a halt, giving the government the excuse to "step in" and go full socialist or communist.

Pfizer and Moderna would have a new mRNA "vaccine" for it in a year or so, which would then be mandated "for the children" with no exceptions. You want to do anything but sit in your house 24/7, then you will have to take the shots.

All voting would be by mail in ballots, which would be sent to everyone.

The Branch Covidians would have a new god to worship, and a new meaning to their lives.

But we'd get new TikTok dance videos of "overworked" doctors and nurses.

Just keep an eye on it. We will see the signs of our government preparing for Covid 2.0. I doubt it will happen but who knows these days.....

China always does, urban work areas are nasty places and lots of unhealthy people. China also uses this as information warfare.

I was sick for 10 days recently. Although that usually happens this time of year. Likely allergy related. I am not worried about a hard flu/cold season.

I am worried about our governments over reaction to a hard cold/flu season. The recent track record isn't good.....
