Early in my career I had a contentious meeting at the IRS HQ building in DC regarding equipment installation. I had to give my name and SS# to get in the building. I got audited the next year. Am retired now, and that is the only time I have ever been audited. That was during the Clinton years.

Maybe they already have all that, and they need Flynn to be free and clear before they can use it, so it will not be tainted evidence.

That would explain Sullivan's delays.

It will be interesting to see what the court does with this filing.

Weird Warner is on board for that.

Must be some questionable dialog there that can be spun.
Could also be a bluff. I think the requests for the Mueller GJ were intended to fail, and give a talking point to the Dems. This was tried with the Ukraine call, and Trump blasted that by releasing the transcript.

THIS.

An enterprising soul could easily make a list of various "coincidences" under that administration, and the length would be damning. Many have made fun of this with a comment like "you're gonna get audited", but there's a hell of a lot of truth to that.
The presence of the Treasury Department in the Flynn deal makes your point perfectly.

The Democrat Party has a strong tradition of using Treasury and the IRS to go after political opponents.

I'm sure the court will appreciate the "end justifying the means" argument of those who influenced Team Mueller in multiple unethical and illegal ways.

It's soooo easy to just audit someone. With our tech situation, we should be able to devise something showing reason for IRS audits---each and every one.

There's plenty of folks on this thread who can tell me if something like that is possible. If you don't use a random pull,, then there's got to be a different method the jackwagons at IRS use.

Flynn exposing that information could've been dismissed as "a desperate defendant creating distraction."

However, Flynn providing information to Barr/Durham has more teeth.

But that information would still stand on its own merit, or at least spur an investigation. Barr/Durham can act weather he hands it directly to them or if it comes from someone else. His family has gone through hell. He's broke and his reputation has been destroyed. I think that if he had something it would have come out a long time ago. I know I would have gone down swinging because by the grace of God he barely avoided jail. It just doesn't make sense. I still don't see why he's been the focus of the 0 administration.
Because Flynn was a vociferous and open critic of Obama on several fronts.

Things tended to happen to people who successfully got under Obama's skin. Joe the Plumber asks a question putting Barry on the spot, he gets audited. Atkisson and Rosen get a little too close for comfort regarding Benghazi, they get wiretapped. Republicans dare gather as 501c(3) organizations? Have the IRS hold up their applications and make sure the names of individual contributors get sent to those in a position to cause them a problem.

Flynn received all of that treatment. Only this time, Obama's minions are going to be held accountable for doing Soetoro's dirty work.

With all due respect, do you actually think this will happen? I wish, but don't see that happening at all.

I do this time.

John Durham isn't someone you deploy on a waste of time. John Durham is someone you go to when you need an untouchable to pursue justice.

Got to admit, however, that I've had my doubts in the past. There has been enough bomb-dropping, however, to strengthen my confidence in the team Barr assembled to get to the truth of this matter.

Whether we end up with convictions or not, the pursuit needs to take place in the most aggressive manner allowed.

These individuals need a much-deserved taste of what Flynn and Trump undeservedly received. You always worry about that one juror who will vote Team Democrat, a judge who attempts to put his weight on the liberal side of the scale, or a prosecution that is as soft as warm butter.

But if the prosecution is as vigorous as I think it will be, then some folks are going to be convicted.

Just the pursuit of justice should be enough to force the future Comeys and Brennans of the world to think twice before they violate their oath of office again.

Graham is seeking testimony from former FBI Director James Comey, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former CIA Director John Brennan, former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates and others.

The subpoena authorizations would also cover any documents, communications and testimony "related to any aforementioned matter" from current and former officials, including Trisha Anderson, James Baker, Dana Boenta, Mary McCord, Andrew McCabe, Loretta Lynch, Jonathan Moffa, Bruce Ohr, Lisa Page, Peter Strzok, Joseph Pientka, John Podesta, Samantha Power, Susan Rice, Rod Rosenstein, Bill Priestap, and Sally Yates among others.

Among that group, there's a weak link somewhere who will seek immunity. I'm just wondering if anyone takes the 5th. (Assuming Graham wins the vote in committee.)

As tempting as this is, and as despicable as these people are, I believe that the threat of being financially ruined because of the cost of defending yourself needs to stop being used as a weapon by the government.

That concern is at the heart of why Gen. Flynn plead guilty to a false charge in the first place (as it relates to knowingly false prosecution of his son).

I don't know how to fix it, but the government's ability to not only use it's full weight and power against you but to also cause you to go broke in the process regardless of the outcome (meaning even if you win you lose) is a really scary thing.
