RE: Ratcliffe...I like him. But put me in the skeptic category. Too many of Trump's picks have proven to be frauds. As soon as they get into positions of power, they either become turncoats or become impotent.

I'd rather have left Grennell in their to raise hell. Between him and Sydney, they're they only one with balls to do anything.
Grennel could only be Acting for 270 days and there was not the appetite to go through a bruising confirmation battle, even if he is gay. He was the grunt to go in and detect the soft spots, throw some grenades and then retreat while the tank company moves in to finish the job.

I also think Ratcliffe has been behind the scenes directing Grennel where to go, since Ratcliffe has seen the documents in the SCIF when he was a House member. There will be little learning curve for Ratcliffe when it comes to declass. Expect a lot of photos of Ratcliffe with a lawyer's satchel (read "big") visiting Barr's office in the future.

Holds a lot.

That's a really good discussion, especially for those of us who aren't attorneys. Will Chamberlain is a lawyer & Editor-in-Chief of Human Events. About 20 minutes long. Explains things in understandable terms for those of us who aren't attorneys & adds his perspectives, very much like Aggiehawg. Interestingly, he follows attorneys Professor Cleveland, Undercover Huber (John Huber), & Leslie Gordon who have graced our forum.

With all due respect, thinking like this is too small.

Very simply put, Obama has been using the intelleginence network built to prevent another 9/11 to spy on political opponents.

This has been case since 2009. In some cases, he caused physical or financial harm, in other cases he black mailed them to do his bidding.

In his previous role as DIA, Flynn knew enough about this and had sufficient documentation to expose their corruption.

As a result, Flynn has to be charged with something to stop him from acting. That's why the FBI started an investigation to charge Flynn although no crime was committed.

This is something we've been saying on this thread and on Forum 16 for years now. Conservatives, Libertarians, and Trump Populists have been talking about this for a long time now.

It is nice to see representatives of the Bush/Rockefeller Republicans, like Ari Fleischer, finally realizing the truth of what was going on.

Had they recognized it earlier rather than running for the nearest place to hide when Mueller received his appointment, then maybe we could have had a much earlier opportunity to get to the truth and hold those responsible for it accountable.

With all due respect, there is nothing stopping him from acting. This position doesn't make any sense. Whatever information he has can be used at any time, either discretely or openly. In fact, releasing these so called "buried bodies" anytime over the last 3 years would help Flynn's case by exposing why the deep state is going after him.

Flynn exposing that information could've been dismissed as "a desperate defendant creating distraction."

However, Flynn providing information to Barr/Durham has more teeth.

But that information would still stand on its own merit, or at least spur an investigation. Barr/Durham can act weather he hands it directly to them or if it comes from someone else. His family has gone through hell. He's broke and his reputation has been destroyed. I think that if he had something it would have come out a long time ago. I know I would have gone down swinging because by the grace of God he barely avoided jail. It just doesn't make sense. I still don't see why he's been the focus of the 0 administration.

Because Flynn was a vociferous and open critic of Obama on several fronts.

Things tended to happen to people who successfully got under Obama's skin. Joe the Plumber asks a question putting Barry on the spot, he gets audited. Atkisson and Rosen get a little too close for comfort regarding Benghazi, they get wiretapped. Republicans dare gather as 501c(3) organizations? Have the IRS hold up their applications and make sure the names of individual contributors get sent to those in a position to cause them a problem.

Flynn received all of that treatment. Only this time, Obama's minions are going to be held accountable for doing Soetoro's dirty work.

Ballasy: "DOJ is going to investigate, they are already investigating the origins of the Russia probe during the Obama years. Do you think they're going to find anything with their investigation?"

Rhodes: "No, no, no, look, look, I can't be clear enough about this. We didn't even know that there was an FBI investigation of Trump. I didn't. President Obama didn't. We actually abided by the firewalls. If there were any investigations that took place, those decisions were made in the Justice Department, in the FBI, not in the White House. They will find nothing that suggests that there was any political White House involvement in any of that. Literally, I learned about the FBI investigation on Trump, as a private citizen, in the fricking Washington Post. You have to understand that we actually abided by the long-standing practice of the White House not getting involved in that kind of stuff."

Ballasy: "The Republicans on the hill seem to be focusing on the dossier."

Rhodes: "We had nothing to do with that."

Ballasy: "You never had seen it when you were in the White House."

Rhodes: "No. I saw it, I heard about it at the very end when, you know, in January of 2017. We weren't involved in commissioning the dossier. Like, that's crazy, you know! We learned about it when it was in the report that was, that was appended to the report that went to Congress at the end of the administration."

Ballasy: "Yeah, the Republicans are saying that it was circulating, likely circulating, in the government through the White House, and that they're going to look into that specifically. The dossier circulating."

Rhodes: "I have been investigated by these committees and I'm telling you they didn't find it. Like we didn't, no, we had nothing to do with the dossier. Like literally, like nothing to do with this dossier."

Lol, when is everyone going to wake up and realize that EVERY SINGLE PERSON elected or appointed in dc the last 20 years is there as a result of cronyism, corruption, or deliberately placed to be an idiot. All for the express purpose of damaging the country. The only ones obama even WANTED to be competent at all were the few bulldogs that were supposed to cover for his anti american agenda.

Very obvious: he was part of that administration and was aware how it operated internally and of some of its verbal undocumented activities and behind the scenes actions, and how things had been set up. As an insider with authority and continued access, he could dig into and unearth all the information needed to expose and undo previous policies and actions the new administration disagreed with or found unacceptable.

If he was rendered into a disgraced criminal with no access and power and leaned on so he kept quiet to protect his family and his elf from further retribution, then he is FAR less of a threat. They knew from working with him that he didn't want to play along with their dogmatic progressive policies and nefarious intelligence abuses and if he had the authority to really dig into the state of affairs under Trump, he could help undo all of Obama's policy failure legacy AND might expose the abuses of the Intel apparatus to surveil political opposition.

Outside disgraced criminal or inside Respected authority figure: you tell me which version would be believed more, and would feel compelled to act?

THIS.

An enterprising soul could easily make a list of various "coincidences" under that administration, and the length would be damning. Many have made fun of this with a comment like "you're gonna get audited", but there's a hell of a lot of truth to that.

Murkowski - R
Alexander - R
Rounds - R
Murray - D
Sanders - I
Markey - D

Understood. It just seems like wishful thinking that Flynn is going to come out of this and start kicking ass and exposing all kinds of corruption. My position is that he can easily do that by telling someone where to dig.

Some interesting insight from Professor MJ Cleveland on Flynn's mandamus.

Two of the three judges on the D.C. Court of Appeals handling Flynn's case were previously appointed to handle the Fokker case. The third judge was appointed by Trump.
