IOW, the Dem Party is the impeach everyone, even private citizens, as a way to take away all of our guns political party.

Who they are. This Dem slate makes McGovern, Mondale and Dukakis look sane by comparison. History tells the tale on that comparison. But Dems didn't have the way the cheat effectively back then like they do now.

This will be a rigged election, since all have been attempted to be rigged since at least Bush/Gore, or LBJ/ Goldwater.

Dems are just getting better at it. They never felt they needed to rig Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin in 2016. Those are guaranteed to be rigged in 2020. Ed Rendell will make sure enough "voting money" will be handed out to ensure the Dem nominee takes the state.

Rendell is quite open about the Dems paying people to vote for Dems. Illegal as hell but he's never been called to account for his rampant election fraud.

Some people think there will be questions to Horowitz about Comey, but the 'Hearing Purpose' suggests otherwise. However......All's fair in love and war.

Ever since I first learned about Rendell from my Dad, I've always seen him as a practical Dem. 100%, full Democrat, but a very careful, behind the scenes operator.

It turns out my Dad's initial description of Rendell is fairly accurate. He's always been very careful in his speech and actions, quite different from many of the Lefties today. Of course, he would have been held to account a little more in the past, so he learned his craft well.

I can't see Rendell actively being involved in vote rigging, but I can definitely see him indirectly supporting the Dem efforts from a distance, which is a shame. He kind of reminds me of an old southern pol who quietly breaks the law, and ends up getting what he wants.

Going to have to disagree with you and with all due respect, your Dad in one respect. Rendell, who I don't find offensive personally as he comes across as level headed and likable guy, runs the Pennsylvania Democratic machine. And it is a machine that almost exclusively produces Democratic election wins. He does his job so well that Hillary and the DNC ignored Pennsylvania in 2016.

I saw Rendell discuss the aftermath of the 2016 election and he was bemoaning the perfect storm that he faced in Pennsylvania. Wasserman-Schultz had ignored fundraising and the DNC was cash poor. Hillary's campaign was essentially running the DNC and deciding who did and did not get $$$$. Rendell was crying for what he termed "walking money", i.e. cash to spread around as the GOTV efforts. Essentially bribes to pastors and community leaders to get their respective "people" to the polls.

When Rendell ran out of cash at the state level, the DNC didn't refill the coffers as in years past and Trump pulled off the victory. Of course Hillary blamed Rendell which may be why he was being perhaps too candid in his own defense as to why he was unable to deliver the state to her.

IOW, without the walking around money, his voters didn't show up.

No worries. It was observation, after all. I never read about him extensively, and only kept up because he was a national player. I don't like him, but that was the way I saw him.

Always appreciate the comments. My Dad was pretty practical. To give you an idea, his number one issue with Goldwater was he was too damned direct and truthful.

Edit: BTW, has anyone else thought of Kitty Kelley when they've seen the name "Kate Kelley" from the NY Times story?

I have been watching, reading and following Rendell for years. So has Karl Rove. Rove can get quite chatty when discussing Rendell and how he runs the state party apparatus irrespective of which official position he holds at the time.
