So we going make a bet on the 2 state solution? $100 it happens before Sept?

Hawkins says we are playing with fire. I think we are messing where we don't belong. All these stuff going on today makes the great flood miniscule as far as hocus pocus and all the while we are spinning around a rock that is on fire. Erie if you ask me.

You actually owe me money/steaks from running your mouth about Johnny Manziel prior to his second season at A&M. You made bets about how he would sink the team, get arrested during the season, quit on the coach, etc. (all of which never happened). So knowing that this will never get paid off in any fashion, I'll simply state that if a deal is struck in the middle east thus beginning your fantasy Armageddon-style world ending, that I'll wipe your slate clean and we'll be even.

But you'll lose and I'll take your $100.

And I just went back and looked at the PM's you sent......your actual statement was that Sumlin would have to pull him from a game for non-performance! This was in the summer of '13 (after his Heisman season before his second season). The reason for your overreaction? He tweeted about the parking ticket.

See, posts like this make me think you're really just trolling.

quote:
The professor did add sarcastically, however, that such an event is unlikely in the near future. He said: 'A particle accelerator that reaches 100bn GeV would be larger than Earth, and is unlikely to be funded in the present economic climate.'

Professor John Ellis, a theoretical physicist at Cern, said: 'One thing should be made clear. The discovery of the Higgs boson at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) did not cause this problem, and collisions at the LHC could not trigger the instability, because their energies are far too low.'

You think there is a real and present risk of a particle accelerator larger than the Earth? Of course not.

Why do engineers always assume that their knowledge of engineering makes them experts in every other scientific realm?

I mean, really? Because we are a "ball of fire" orbiting another "ball of fire" it makes sense to believe in the Great Flood? Do you know what evidence is and how it works? I would assume as an engineer that if someone walked in and said, "I want a bridge made out Twinkies and unicorn poo that can support a tank, and I know this can work because, dude, the Empire State Building is like tall and stuff," you'd laugh them out of your office.

You need to revisit our PM conversation to its completion. JM did not have a great season and the bet was we could meet at FreeBirds and I would buy. I didn't go to one game JM's last yr at TAMU. I will also admit that was written soon after I returned back from 2 yrs in Africa and the Middle East, I picked up some bad habits that I now can manage. (thanks to the Lord).
I have no clue why my post have upset you.

In every civilization a great flood is spoke of which makes since because it was a great flood, there are signs everywhere of residue of a great flood, even the Great Pyramid of Giza has markings of a flood (which was designed by Enoch who was raptured by God). God blessed me with an exceptional understanding of the sciences and I will not apologize to someone like you from the liberal arts side for this blessing. Texas A&M granted me the favor of earning an engineering degree. I simply stated we are a rock circling another rock that is on fire, we should be discussing how that is possible and who caused it.

Anyway, I believe the seven yr tribulation will start the day the peace treaty is signed between Israel and Palestine. Amazing this was written 1000's of yrs ago and now coming to pass.

If you think the sun is a rock then you may not have gotten your money's worth from your degree. Maybe you need to ask God for more science knowledge.

Figure of speech, I am sure it is not a rock but it is a ball of fire. Step outside and look for yourself (don't stare), amazing magic, moreso than a flood.

Last post on this thread, each word is getting dissected and getting rather nasty by the natives.

Oh my word. Here we go with Winags playing chicken little. Just to clarify, your posts have never upset me. Make me laugh uncontrollably, sure. But they've never upset me. And I've been hearing for [almost] 30 years that the "end times" are beginning (I'm only 38....so virtually all of my listening life). I heard them in the early 90's as Desert Storm was beginning, I heard them from a HILARIOUS Dawson McAllister conference that some hard core Baptist end times friend of mine took me to in HS. I heard them again after 9/11. And I heard them when BHO was elected. But let me guess, THIS time you've got secret insight into some random string of prophecies that have been duct taped together to show that 2015 is the year it begins. Awesome.

And Ok....I'll bite.....how did JFF not have a great season?

And that wasn't even what you claimed. You claimed he would be so bad and so divisive, that Sumlin would bench him.

And I concede you were right...it was Freebirds and not a steak.

The pyramids have no water erosion on any scale like you're suggesting, there is beyond zero geological evidence of a global flood. Local myths only demonstrate that man lived near bodies of water, not that God wiped all of humanity away.

I retracted that statement made during the summer of 2013 one week later in a PM with you, define PM please.

As far as JM greatest in 2013, he would be the first to tell you 2013 was a disappointing season.

I really don't appreciate the name calling so I am done with you.

And wiped out almost every human and every animal only 4000 years ago or so. And yet left ZERO pieces of evidence. A flood of that size and power would have done significant damage. And I guess I should have been clearer: there is no water erosion of any kind and any sort related to the Great Pyramids.

winags claims to have excellent science knowledge, yet apparently does not know the first thing about geology. I have to admit, this whole 'bathtub rings on the pyramids' idea is a new one to me.

Why would the pyramids have water rings on them? The casing stones and outer covering are no longer present. Not that I believe that they did or do have water marks but the layer that would show it is gone.

And speaking of Egypt a significant portion of the structures are covered in plaster. Some very old structures mind you. Every time flooding in modern times has touched the plaster it has crumbled and or at the very least been damaged.

All the plaster covered columns would have been destroyed by a great flood. Unless you want to argue they are all younger than the flood yet still have names and events painted on plaster that are ancient indeed. Or in other words names and events were repainted on after the flood. But how did Noah and his family keep this knowledge of history and language alive long enough for it to be repainted?

I do not trust governments with that much power and that machine is extremely powerful, most powerful machine in the world. What they say they are doing and what they are really doing are 2 different matters...

Nope none. Not even a little bit, hence the very idea of the flood is completely rejected by scientists. I thought you said your were good at science?

quote:
, even the Great Pyramid of Giza has markings of a flood (which was designed by Enoch who was raptured by God).
None of that's true. Not one bit. The important distinction between science and engineering is that science is an act of discovery by a method of disproving through experimentation. Engineering is the application of already discovered theories toward a particular goal (which I tend to prefer, but the distinction in thinking is worth understanding).

quote:
God blessed me with an exceptional understanding of the sciences and I will not apologize to someone like you from the liberal arts side for this blessing.
As an engineer myself I know that A&M does teach engineering just fine but teaches almost nothing of how science is and should be done. You basically get good lessons in physics and math and material mechanics. You will get some greater understanding of working with particular methods or materials if you stay for your masters as I did. But it still just a starter. I'm training a Phd right now from rice and he hasn't the first clue how to design a 1-story building (smart guy too), it will be years before he's ready to even help design a high rise. Your education just proves you can learn and provides (sometimes, I'm often disappointed, even with aggie grads) a foundation of the basics. If you are doing anything complex at all you won't be near ready even with maximal in-school learning. Even though all this that, and with years of on the job learning and schooling this Phd will learn jack **** about any sciences outside of our particular field.

It must be studied independently, an engineering understanding is limited to that subject. It must be your own curiosity that leads you to knowledge of other subjects like biology or geology. I'd take the knowledge of a liberal arts guy who's read books on these subjects out of independent curiosity over any non-biology science major who hasn't studied it at all. You very well may have an affinity for science, but it doesn't appear you've applied it beyond your specialty.
