How long do you want to ignore this user?
I finally watched the episode last night. Greatness. I loved the way they did it as a documentary, with everyone talking to the documentary filmmaker and then Ari providing outstanding running commentary from LA.

Drama claiming he was the one fooling around with Leila was one of the most hilarious things I've ever heard, and Turtle seemed to agree.

My only disappointment was the lack of Sloan and Lloyd, but because of the greatness of Billy Walsh's bipolar madness, I guess I can overlook it.

I can't wait to see what they do next Sunday, with Vince going broke and unable to get at job while Billy is MIA with the movie (excuse me, "film".

Really? I've always thought her character was worthless and annoying. How is she even still billed on the opening credits?
Some unintentional forshadowing on my part. Adios Debi Mazar, and hello to the much hotter Perrey Reeves.

I'm very glad you turned out to be right (without even intending to), double aught. Shauna was always my least-favorite character. She was a biotch, she wasn't good looking (but acted like she was), and her consistent f-bombs always sounded much dirtier and more inappropriate than ones out of Ari's mouth (which are natural and hilarious).

Ms. Ari, on the other hand, is hot. She is a perfect example of the M-I-L-F that everyone would love to marry. And her interaction with Ari, when good, is always highly enjoyable, particularly when it's at the therapist (such as the Vince/Ari breakup episode and the Aquaman/power failure meltdown by Ari).

I was ok with Shauna, but I'll take Mrs. Ari any day of the week. (A Day in the Valley- the Aquaman release ep- is the best of the series partly because of her scenes with Ari.) She is supposed to be getting a bigger storyline this season...but I'll keep this thread spoiler free.

Good ep again last night. I see Ari and E vs. Vince and Walsh coming up...and I like where it's going.

I have a bad habit of expecting things to happen on the show, rather than just watching it for entertainment. I'm too interested in how Medellian is going to turn out and affect Vince's career, for them to just put it off until another episode (or more). All in all, it was pretty good.

do yall think the medillian thing is going to drag on for the rest of the season or do ou think it will be resolved and theyll move on to the nxt project?
Squirrel Master

They won't drag it out much longer. It'll be released by ep.4 of this season and then they'll deal with the potential backlask of it not being good. Then work on getting next project.

Anyone notice the increase in boobs? I'm not complaining, but I don't think they had any nudity until the episode they found Billy shooting porn. It's been in every episode since, wondering what caused the change.

The show gets criticized quite a bit for not showing nudity, especially since it is in every other HBO show and, realistically, probably should appear in Vince's Hollywood life more than in those other shows.

From the creator:

quote:
"For my taste, I don't want to watch the guys get naked every week," Mr. Ellin said about the lack of sex scenes on the show. "I would rather hear the guys talk about their sexual experience last night than watch it; I think it's funnier and it's more real to life.

"The fact of the matter is I could show sex all day and all night, and the show would be boring and old," Mr. Ellin said. "I don't want to burn five minutes with a gratuitous sex scene. I'd rather have comedy and find something out about the characters."

Kudos to the creator. I'd rather hear Drama and Turtle wax philosophically about the women they've had (or claim to have had) than have to stare at their naked butts. I watch the show because I enjoy witty dialogue and following the goofy characters, not because I want to see sex scenes. People that want that, that's what they make porn for.

And FWIW, this is a show made about guys and for guy. I don't think seeing male nudity does anything to advance that premise.

I think you people are seeing things, I really don't think there was any before.

I have seasons 1 and 2 on DVD and can go back and look at specific episodes.

Wow, that's impressive.

Medellin is going to bomb, trust me on this one.

Billy is a joke of a director and the scenes they did show of Medellin looked like a Made for TV movie or a Hallmark Production, as Billy noted.

Gig-Em2003
How long do you want to ignore this user?
It's not going to bomb. If anything, Vince will win an Oscar. Vince has already hit his low point, having to sell his house, being broke, etc.

This show is all positive all the time so you can bet they'll succeed.
WestTxAg06

Dante, it hit me a week or so ago that they might be setting it up that way, what with Ari telling Vince no one will hire him until they see Medellin.

Of course, then it becomes less of a comedy and more of a drama if they create a storyline where Medellin bombs, Vince can't get a job, and the guys start having serious financial trouble. Personally, I don't think that would be a good turn for the show.

I'd rather see Medellin do reasonably well at the box office and get solid or even good critical acclaim, and that lead to Vince getting popcorn flick-type offers, which would lead to him not wanting to do those movies and he and E fighting Ari in epic fashion just like in the Matterhorn/Aquaman days.

Dante...I'm guessing you're right. The heavy make-up Vince had to wear to portray Escobar was comical, and I think he'll probably get panned/razzed. Lets face it, they need somewhere to go with plot lines, and down and out / clawing his way back to the top will be interesting.

I hope they do stretch it out for awhile. There is a lot of potential for conflict between Vince and E, and I think we will finally get to see E and Ari on the same side trying to fix this thing.

My prediction: The first cut is as bad as E things it is, but after E and Ari get somebody else in to recut it, Walsh delivers an excellent movie. It may not be a box office smash, but it will at least be an arthouse hit.

What it all comes down to is the guys eventually have to be rolling in the cash again. Cause the show is not nearly as fun when they aren't out living our fantasies.

the overall story plot does seem to be running out unless vince hits it big with medellin and wins an oscar and whatnot and then next season his drug habits increase and he ends up in rehab as his career nose dives... but the shows too positive for that so more parties and makin movies

Why Entourage is so entertaining:

quote:
In Entourage’s clubhouse fantasy world you can smoke mountains of pot and have casual sex with hundreds of women without ever paying any kind of cost. Entourage seems to exist in a world without AIDS, without STDs, without hard drugs or unwanted pregnancies.

i liked the last episode, drama's neurotic behaviour about the party was great. and once again, i wish someone would run billy over with E's car and feed him to Arnold.

I like the life they live and 10 years ago I would've loved it. I live vicariously through these guys. That's why I love the show.

Hard drugs? Unprotected sex? I know that their haven't been hard drugs and I don't think we know enough about the sex to say it's unprotected.

The show is tame compared to many real hollywood lives.

Anybody notice in the last episode:

The banner behind Ari in the principals office reads: Meets Thurday

Drama has a Patrick Nagel print in his condo. Didn't those die out in 1985?

I love the show. As mentioned above, a great vicarious escape.
