I also think Paulie is the one that betrays Tony. I don't think he kills Tony himself but he does rat him out to Phil. It was a shame to see Sil go out like that, getting punked.

Paulie just about ratted out Tony to NY for his fat joke and was at the time looking to get tight with NY. Not extremely loyal.

With all that potential foreshadowing during the earlier episode where he and Tony go to Miami during this season (6B), I think there is a strong possibility he gives up Tony to NY and becomes the new head of the NJ family with NY's blessing.

If Paulie was promised the top position in Jersey by giving up Tony, he gets killed too.

No way Tony dies and Paulie survives. He's too dumb not to get double-crossed.

But I don't think that's the case. During the meeting, Phil reminded the others about how John always said NJ was "just a glorified crew" and that they would kill the top 3 and absorb whomever was left pretty much as a crew.

I don't think Phil has any intention of killing Tony and others and placing someone else as the head of the family. He wants the family gone and absorbed under himself.

This is wishful thinking on alot of people's part. Sil took her into the woods and SHOT her in the head, plain and simple. Just because the show didn't go out of its way to show a close-up of her brains in the grass doesn't mean she's alive.
But I bet Chase wishes he HAD shown her brains - based on some of his comments in interviews, I don't think he expected so many fans to play the "she's still alive somewhere" soap opera card.
In one recent interview, when asked about it, he rolled his eyes and said 'one thing I can guarantee you is Adrianna is dead, she's not coming back'.

Also - on Paulie - my understanding is that the actor that plays him had it written into his contract before the series began that his character would never turn out to be a rat. This was important to him as he was a real-life wiseguy back in the late 60's/early 70's.

Someone please clear this up for me -- I realize this isn't that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things, but it's bugging me!

The Phil look-a-like and the woman:
Was that woman actually Phil's mistress and it was just coincidence that her father looked like Phil?

Or was that a completely independent couple of people with no ties to Phil who just got mixed up because of the old guy's resemblance to Phil?

I guess we don't know for sure, but I think it was coincidence.

It was Phil's gumar (mistress) who also happened to be his housekeeper.

The man was her father. The "cousins" DID go to the right address for the hit, thinking that Phil would be visiting his gumar that night.

However (unfortunately), Phil was already on the run and it was the gumar's father who went inside and ended up getting capped.

Maybe Patsy Parisi is in on it. It seemed to me that he didn't take very evasive action when the other car tried to box them in. Also he wasn't doing a whole lot of shooting prior to running off. Maybe that's why Paulie told him not to worry, that he would not be shot.

Patsy wasn't a target, it was Sil.

My point, he didn't seem to be protecting Sil much.

He was shooting back. He's not the Sil Secret Service. Return fire and get the eff out of there = what all of those guys would have done.

Just read something interesting on another board - many are saying that during the scene where Tony is in AJ's room trying to get him moving, a red laser dot appers on Tony's face/head, like a laser gun sight.
They say it happens right after Tony tells AJ "don't break your mother's balls".
I'll watch again tonight whenI get home, but anyone else catch this??

i dont know if its in his contract, or if it was just a verbal agreement but yes i've read this on a couple of occassions as well. but the deal Chase supposedly made with him is that he wouldnt be a 'rat'....i never read anything regarding him turning on tony.

i'm pretty sure that if patsy was the one who turns on Tony and the NJ crew, he wouldn't agree to take part in that whole shootout outside the Bing. he coulda gotten killed and got close to being shot for sure.

i do think theres a chance though that he turns on Tony at some point.

I just watched it back in HD . . . twice . . . and I don't see anything that remotely resembles a red laser dot (or anything out of the ordinary for that matter).

Anything to the white shoes? The guy playing both side who Sil took care of was wearing white loafers and they showed a close-up.
Bobby was shooting pool and they showed a close-up of his white shoes. Both are gone.
Paulie's closet is full of white shoes - what could that mean??

There are so many angles. I think Chase has been setting up Paulie to make people think he will turn on Tony and that means that he probably won't.

I definitely think Tony will kill Phil somehow, but that Tony will either die or it will end with him miserable.

Anything about the peyote scene where Tony says that he "gets it?" What did he "get?"

Is the AJ saga over?

How can they close out Carmella?
