I agree on the Clancy/Crichton books/movies. While Red October was an entertaining movie, they did leave out a lot of interesting stuff from the book. I hated long stretches of Jurassic Park, the movie, but find it interesting that many of the major sequences from the book did not make it into the first movie, but showed up in either of the sequels. For instance the Tyrannosaur chasing the people into a cave from The Lost World, which was similar to a sequence in the original book, and the Pterodactyl (sp?) sequence from Jurassic Park III was in the original novel as well.
I'd like to see real efforts made on some of Clancy's remaining novels (Without Remorse, Debt of Honor, Rainbox Six, The Cardinal of the Kremlin), plus those Isaac Asimov robot novels (can't recall the titles, but I'm not talking about I, Robot).
