Jurassic World Rebirth

Boring, predictable, and a couple instances of terrible CGI.

AVATAR (aka, Fern Gully w/ blue aliens)

Raging Bull. Tried to watch, but sooo boring. Couldn't finish. So many better, more entertaining boxing movies.

Now, bear with me on this, but Saving Private Ryan. The initial Normandy invasion sequence is must watch, but I just can't get over the foundational premise of the movie.

I had no problem with the premise of SPR. The idea that a pet project from some Washington bigwig could get a handful of grunts sent on a dangerous mission with no real strategic value seemed very believable to me.

Oppenheimer.

Agreed. I didn't hate it, but have no need to ever see it again.

I'll add Social Network. Just don't get what is so great about that movie. Saw it with a big group and every one of us gave it a big meh.

Scarface
American Beauty
Elf
The Big Lebowski
The Matrix

Elf is a good call out. The most overrated Christmas movie of all time and I generally like Will Ferrell's stupid humor.

However, putting The Big Lebowski and The Matrix on here is insane.

Walked out of this one. I know I am in the minority, but I thought it sucked.

To this day, I have no idea what people see in this movie.

Blazing Saddles

Probably not fair to say that I "didn't like it" but this was a classic case of a movie being overhyped (it was overhyped to me personally). I was told to prepare myself for the funniest thing I'd ever seen in my life and there was simply no chance that it could live up to what was promised.

Besides Mad Max Fury Road, many of mine have been mentioned already. Granted, I don't know if these really qualify because it's more my "overrated" list and not necessarily movies I didn't like. I would still rate these as decent movies:

Black Panther - Very mid. His character arc in Civil War was fantastic and far outshines Black Panther

Saving Private Ryan - Besides the Normandy scene, the rest of the movie just isn't interesting. I've never had the desire to watch it again. Band of Brothers ****s all over SPR in both character work, story telling, and visuals.

Everything Everywhere All at Once - Entertaining enough movie. But the hype it got seemed to ONLY come from the "Asian representation" bull***** I find that so grating and idiotic. In fact, it was a reason why I went years never watching Crazy Rich Asians. Though, after watching that one, I really enjoyed it and wished they didn't spend the entire marketing campaign talking about Asian representation. Just be a ****ing good movie. Stop with the representation bull***** Without the "representation" angle in EEAAO, it's a 7/10 movie.

There Will Be Blood - Honestly, put most of PTA's movies on my list. I don't know what it is about his movies. I recognize the amazing acting. I recognize the talent in shooting the film. I love many artsy fartsy movies. But, for some reason, PTA movies always leave me feeling nothing and I ultimately never feel like watching them again. Even Boogie Nights is just barely above "meh", for me.

Lilo & stitch, the original one. I don't remember exactly why I don't like it. So of course I haven't bothered with the latest one.

Hunger Games - i couldn't get past the absolutely idiotic premise.

Me too- I was bored through most of it. A few good lines here and there, but that bubble burst pretty fast for me.

First one I thought of. Just a complete waste of time I wish I had back. Genuinely do not understand any admiration for this film.

Citizen Kane, the ultimate film studies nerd movie. I understand why it was important to the history of film, but I can't imagine people actually enjoying the movie other than from a historical perspective.

2001. I love science fiction, I enjoyed the novel. The movie is a total snooze fest. Honestly, other than A Clockwork Orange and the first half of Full Metal Jacket, I'm not a fan of Stanley Kubrick.

I've said it before and now I'm saying it again, Ghostbusters.

Saw it when it first came out. The overhyped- it just didn't work. I've never saw Ghostbusters 2, the cartoon The Real Ghostbusters, the one with the SNL ladies- it just didn't "work."

Sorry(?)

A couple of titles that come to mind:

The Goonies
The Sandlot

For the first, I was just out of high school but felt like I would have loved that one about 5 years earlier
For the second, I was not yet a parent, recently graduated from A&M and just didn't connect with it. Years later, I appreciated it far more as a parent with a baseball playing son.
